The Relational Process Group's Purpose or Mission
A Relational Process Group gives group members a place to slow down and notice the relational patterns they may have carried for years without quite seeing them. Many of us grew up learning just one way to relate to other people, and that way can sometimes make it hard to ask for what we need, hold a boundary, or even locate our own feelings in the moment. Rather than talking about these patterns from a distance, the group gives them a chance to show up naturally in the room. We can name what is happening between members as it happens, including the parts that usually stay unsaid.
The goal isn't advice or a fix. It is the lived experience of being met, of letting someone else in, and of discovering that connection can hold more than we may have expected. There can be something powerful about having the space to notice what happens inside of us while we are actually in relationship with other people. Over weeks and months, that practice becomes something participants can carry with them into their marriages, friendships, and families outside the group. The group becomes a place to practice relating differently, in real time, with the support of others who are doing the same.
The Relational Process Group is designed for
This group is for you if you sense that something in how you connect with others could be different, even if you can't quite put a finger on what. Maybe you tend to keep things to yourself and wonder what it would feel like to actually be heard. Perhaps you wish someone else could help carry a piece of the pain you've been holding, but you're unsure how to receive it. Maybe it shows up differently for you. You notice yourself getting sharp or reactive before you understand why, and you'd like the space to look at where that anger actually comes from.
You might be someone who's done individual therapy before and wants to practice these patterns live, with real people, rather than just talk about them. Or you might simply be curious about what it feels like to be known by more than one person in the same room. Whatever your particular pattern is, this group isn't about fixing it from the outside. It's about noticing it together as it happens and becoming more aware of what is happening within you and between you and others. No prior group experience is needed, just a willingness to stay present, see what comes up for you, and try your best to put it into words.
Participants who join The Relational Process Group can expect
We'll meet weekly over Zoom for 75 minutes, with a small and consistent group of women. There's no set agenda, and the material each week comes from whatever you and the other members bring into the room. My role as group therapist is to help track and guide you to notice and name what's happening between us in the "here and now." This may mean slowing down when something feels uncomfortable, becoming curious about a reaction, or helping put words to something that may otherwise remain unsaid.
Expect some discomfort at times, especially when an old pattern of yours shows up in real time. At the same time, there can be moments of genuine connection once that pattern is named and worked through together. What you choose to share is entirely up to you, and there's no pressure to disclose more than feels right. Members often find that the more they bring into the room, the more they take away from it. Confidentiality and steady attendance matter a great deal here, since trust in a group builds slowly, one week at a time.
Jewish Community Experience
I have extensive experience working with people from the Jewish community in both individual and group work. My experience has given me an appreciation for the ways that relationships, family, community, and the expectations we may carry can shape how we experience ourselves and connect with others. I understand that each person's relationship with their Jewish community and background is personal and can look very different from someone else's.
In my work, I aim to create a space where people can bring their experiences openly and honestly, including the parts that may feel complicated or difficult to put into words. Whether we are working individually or in a group, I value creating a space where you can slow down, be curious about your patterns, and feel genuinely met. My goal is to help you explore what you bring into relationships while staying connected to the person and the community you are.
