Rachel Grossman, LCSW
Our painful experiences aren’t a liability—they’re a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength. ― Edith Eger, The Choice

Why Rachel Grossman, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

I entered the helping profession because I genuinely love people and feel a deep sense of care for who they are. I’m often moved by the small, human details—our quirks, our stories, and the ways each person carries something uniquely their own. I’m guided by empathy and a belief in the inherent worth that lives in all of us, even when it’s hard to see in ourselves. When someone is struggling, I want them to feel truly seen, understood, and accepted.

My own experiences with adversity have shaped how I show up in this work. They’ve taught me how to sit with pain in a way that is gentle, steady, and free of judgment. Because I’ve walked through difficult times myself, I understand how heavy it can feel to carry things alone. I’m committed to creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected.

Rachel Grossman, LCSW's approach

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I view healing as a holistic process—one that encompasses the mind, nervous system, emotional life, and our sense of meaning and connection. I consider the body an essential source of wisdom and healing, and I strive to work with the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

I draw from Somatic Experiencing (SE) to support nervous system regulation and trauma healing, and I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients build compassionate relationships with their inner parts. Mindfulness-based psychotherapy is woven throughout our work to cultivate present-moment awareness, curiosity, and self-compassion. We move at a pace that feels safe and supportive, honoring your inner wisdom and capacity for change.

My intention is to help you cultivate a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself—one that honors your unique experiences and allows for growth at a pace that feels right for you. Ultimately, I hope our work together leaves you feeling more understood, more resilient, and more connected to your inherent worth.

What you can expect from sessions with Rachel Grossman, LCSW

In our sessions, you can expect a non-judgmental and gentle space where you are welcome just as you are. Together, we will make room for authenticity, turning inward, and meeting your experience with compassion and softness.

Some sessions may focus on practical skills and tools to support you in daily life, while others may be slower and more reflective, creating space to connect with your body or with parts of you that are asking for care and attention. We will work collaboratively to identify your goals, honoring what feels most important to you. As therapy unfolds, we’ll revisit and adjust these goals together, allowing the work to evolve in a way that feels supportive and aligned.

Rachel Grossman, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

I’m deeply drawn to working with the Jewish community, which is also my own. I’ve worked with Jewish clients across a wide range of observance and practice, and I value meeting people where they are. I bring an understanding of Jewish culture and community life, and I understand how meaningful and complex this identity can be. I also bring my own spiritual connection to Judaism, including a quiet grounding in Chassidic teachings that informs how I understand the human experience.

At the same time, I hold an open, non-judgmental stance toward each person’s individual relationship to Jewish identity and practice. My hope is to offer a space where Jewish clients feel seen, understood, and supported in a way that feels authentic to them.

  • For years I had been contemplating the idea of going to therapy but was frightened to start. I reached out to Rachel Grossman and she immediately responded and suggested we have an introductory meeting to see if we would be a good match. One therapy session at a time, I have realized there was no reason feel afraid. Going to therapy has been the highlight of the year for me and I couldn't be happier to have started. I would undoubtedly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate therapist.
