Marnie Kean, LCSW's style
💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🧘 CalmWhy Marnie Kean, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
I believe that at some point, everyone needs a little extra support, and there’s nothing wrong with that. My goal as a therapist is to be there for others in those moments, offering the kind of presence that can truly make a difference. People come to therapy for many different reasons, and I’m here to meet each person where they are, with warmth, kindness, and deep respect. I strive to create a space that feels safe and free of judgment, where clients can show up fully as themselves.
Sometimes, simply having a space to talk things through can bring tremendous relief. Other times, it’s about gaining a new perspective that shifts how you feel and how you cope. Whether you’re sorting through something specific or just feeling stuck, therapy can offer a path forward. I’m honored to walk alongside my clients as they explore what they need and discover what’s possible for them.
Marnie Kean, LCSW's approach
At The Practice with CARE, LLC, I bring Compassion, Advocacy, Reflection, and Emotional wellness to the forefront of my work. These core values guide the support I offer, helping clients develop coping skills that align with their individual needs and life circumstances. I believe that self-care and self-advocacy are essential parts of healing, and I encourage clients to explore how their thoughts and perspectives influence the way they experience challenges.
In our work together, we’ll focus on finding coping strategies that genuinely work for you — not just in theory, but in practice. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness to help clients gain clarity, shift their focus to the present, and move away from unhelpful patterns rooted in the past or worries about the future. I value the therapeutic relationship and the sense of connection and empathy that builds over time. It’s within that space of trust that meaningful growth and change can happen.

Marnie Kean, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
My MSW internship at Jewish Family and Vocational Services (JFVS) laid the foundation for my clinical training and perspective. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked with four different Jewish Family Service agencies across New Jersey, gaining deep experience in counseling, case management, and community support. In addition, I spent over five years serving in Jewish-owned senior housing, where I worked closely with residents to address their evolving needs.
My approach is deeply rooted in Jewish values, which guide the care and compassion I bring to my work. I’ve supported older adults and individuals with disabilities through social programs, conducted community-based senior assessments, and provided counseling and case management at multiple JCHC residences. On the Wilf Campus, I served as the on-site social worker for an independent living facility, helping residents navigate challenges with dignity and respect. This work continues to inform my belief in meeting people where they are, with empathy and purpose.
