Julie Sitomer, LCSW's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 🧘 Calm 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Julie Sitomer, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
I chose to become a therapist focused on supporting women because I deeply understand how life-changing and emotionally complex the transitions women experience can be. My own journey through infertility and the transition into motherhood was far more difficult than I ever anticipated. Despite reading countless parenting books and doing everything I could to prepare, I still found myself feeling lost, overwhelmed, and disconnected from the life and identity I once knew. I know firsthand how isolating it can feel when the reality of a life transition looks very different from what you expected.
Through my experience teaching parent-and-me classes, I witnessed firsthand how profoundly motherhood impacts not only the individual woman, but the entire family system. Again and again, I saw women struggling to navigate shifting identities, changing relationships, and the emotional demands that accompany these seasons of life. These experiences strengthened my passion for helping women feel seen, supported, and understood during vulnerable stages of life.
I love walking alongside women through all phases of transition, from trying to conceive, to pregnancy and postpartum, and into perimenopause. I recognize that hormonal shifts, identity changes, and emotional challenges during these seasons deserve specialized care, compassion, and attention. My goal is to create a space where women can show up exactly as they are, process their experiences without judgment, and reconnect with themselves as they move through life's many transitions.
Julie Sitomer, LCSW's approach
I provide a safe, supportive environment where you can share your feelings openly and be truly authentic. I believe therapy works best when it feels comfortable and collaborative, which is why we work closely together to determine goals that feel right for you and move you in the direction you want to go. Every person is different, and I strive to meet you where you are. Whether you prefer a more conversational, talkative approach or a more mindful and reflective style, we will work together to create a therapeutic experience that fits your unique needs.
I utilize a combination of therapeutic approaches to best support my clients, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Depending on your goals and preferences, we may engage in traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Brainspotting. If being outdoors feels more comfortable or grounding, we can even incorporate walk-and-talk sessions into our work together. My goal is for you to feel supported, understood, and empowered as you navigate life's challenges. Feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and see if we are a good fit. You deserve to have someone on your side, walking alongside you and supporting you through whatever life brings.
What you can expect from sessions with Julie Sitomer, LCSW
I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, which is why I regularly check in with my clients to ensure they are getting what they want and need from our therapeutic relationship. As life changes, so do our needs, and it is important that therapy evolves alongside you. Together, we continually assess and adjust goals as new challenges, insights, or priorities arise. I want you to feel that your voice is always an important part of the process.
Each session provides an opportunity to check in and determine what feels most important in that moment. Sometimes that means continuing to work toward specific goals we have established together, and other times it means making space to process something pressing that happened during the week. Healing is not always linear, and I believe it is important to honor what is coming up for you in real time. We work at a pace that feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely helpful, ensuring that therapy remains a supportive and meaningful experience.
Julie Sitomer, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
I have found it especially important right now for clients to feel safe within the therapeutic relationship when it comes to their Jewish identity. For many Jewish clients, the world can feel uncertain, isolating, or even invalidating at times, making it all the more essential that therapy remains a place of safety and understanding. I believe that the therapeutic space should be one where you never have to explain, defend, or minimize important parts of who you are. Instead, therapy should offer a sense of refuge where you can show up fully as yourself.
Many of my clients are Jewish, and I understand the unique cultural, religious, and communal experiences that can shape one's emotional world. Therapy should be a safe space to be honest, vulnerable, and authentic, without fear of judgment. My goal is to create an environment where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and respected, allowing us to explore your experiences openly and meaningfully. Feeling seen and understood is an important part of healing, and I am committed to providing that space for my clients.
