Why Dassy Cotlar chose to be in the helping profession

I love supporting women who are navigating the ups and downs of life with chronic illness. I've been living with and navigating chronic illness myself since early childhood, so this is something that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

My own experience has made me especially passionate about supporting other women who are going through similar challenges. I understand that living with a chronic illness can affect so many parts of your life, not just your physical health, and I want to help women navigate those challenges while still moving toward the life they want.

For me, it's important to recognize that chronic illness is part of someone's experience, but it doesn't have to define their entire life. I work with women to help them focus on themselves as a whole person, rather than seeing everything through the lens of their illness. I want them to feel that they can still have goals, desires, and a sense of direction, even when they're dealing with difficult or unpredictable circumstances. Supporting women as they find their way through these challenges is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

Dassy Cotlar's approach

My approach is warm, nourishing, and client-led, with an element of accountability and structure. I want my clients to feel supported and understood, while also having the guidance and practical strategies they need to move forward. I believe it's important to meet each person where they are and work with what feels most relevant to them. At the same time, I want our work together to have direction, so that we aren't just talking about what's difficult, but also looking at what can change and how to get there.

I use a mix of different modalities, including subconscious reprogramming, nervous system work, inner child work, and somatic approaches. I draw on these methods to help women work through the patterns and internal blocks that may be keeping them stuck. My work is not about treating an illness itself, but about supporting the person who is living with it. I want to help my clients better understand themselves, recognize what's getting in their way, and find ways to move forward that feel right for them.

What you can expect from sessions with Dassy Cotlar

In our sessions, I want you to feel empowered and clear on what you want. A big part of our work is helping you own your wants and desires, rather than feeling held back by fear, self-doubt, or the expectations you may have placed on yourself. We look at the blocks that are slowing you down or preventing you from getting what you want, whether that's your inner critic, procrastination, fear, or something else that keeps coming up. Together, we work through those blocks so you can begin to move forward.

My goal is for you to leave our work with a clearer sense of what matters to you and how you want to move toward it. I want you to feel that you have the space to explore what's going on for you, but also the support and structure to take meaningful steps. I bring a warm, nourishing approach to our sessions, while also encouraging accountability and progress. Ultimately, I want to help you move forward in a way that feels aligned with your own goals and desires, rather than someone else's idea of what your life should look like.

Dassy Cotlar's experience working with the Jewish community

I work with many Jewish clients, and I have extensive experience within the Jewish community. My familiarity with the community is an important part of the context I bring to my work with women. I understand that each person's experience is different, and I want to make room for the individual behind the challenges they're facing.

As a life coach, I focus on supporting women as they navigate chronic illness and the ways it can affect their lives, goals, and sense of direction. I bring my experience working with Jewish clients into that work while keeping the focus on each person's own needs and desires. My approach is warm and client-led, and I aim to create a space where women feel supported as they work through what's holding them back and move toward a life that feels more aligned with what they want.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • Dassie holds such a calm and non-judgmental space. I felt safe, comfortable, and really guided inward. The somatic work (which was new to me)was powerful and things came up naturally. She helped me find clarity through looking inwards. I walked away feeling empowered and more aware of both my internal triggers and my external boundaries.

  • She is so talented and thought-provoking. Dassy asked such insightful questions that encouraged self-reflection and helped lead me to my own answers rather than her providing them. I appreciated her deep validation and exercises that led to a clearer picture of myself. Her breath work and visual exercises were really comforting, grounding, and helped bring more self-awareness.I gained so much from each session. The experience was genuinely meaningful, and I would confidently recommend her to anyone looking for thoughtful, supportive coaching.

  • Dassy was extremely supportive. This was a first for me and wasn't sure what to expect. Dassy in a personal and gentle way encouraged to envision my goals and come up with concrete small steps to get there including a contingency plan

I’m walking away from this experience feeling such a giant shift internally that has given me the peace and inner freedom I’ve been desiring.
