💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 👂 Listener 💡 Solution-orientedWhy Chaya Travis chose to be in the helping profession
From a young age, I felt a calling to the helping profession. My innate desire to assist individuals and couples in their journey toward healing has always been a driving force in my life. Witnessing the transformation that can occur when people allow themselves to be vulnerable and trust me to guide them through the process of growth and change is deeply humbling.
As a therapist, I consider it an honor to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences. By providing a safe and non-judgmental space, I am able to facilitate a deeper understanding of their struggles and challenges. Through collaboration and guidance, I help clients develop the necessary tools to navigate their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a more positive and fulfilling way.
My passion for helping others has led me to pursue ongoing education and training in various therapeutic modalities. By continuously expanding my knowledge and skill set, I am better equipped to provide the highest quality care to my clients.
My commitment to the helping profession is rooted in my belief in the power of human connection and resilience. I am honored to play a small part in the healing journey of those I work with, and I strive to create a supportive and empowering environment for all.
Chaya Travis's approach
As a therapist, I take an integrative and holistic approach to understanding and addressing the challenges my clients face. This means that I work collaboratively with my clients to explore how these challenges impact their lives in different domains, such as their relationships, work, and personal growth.
A key aspect of my approach is addressing past trauma and how it may be impacting my clients' current functioning. By creating a safe and supportive space, I help clients explore their experiences and develop strategies for managing the ongoing effects of trauma.
In addition, I incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy to help clients develop practical problem-solving skills and gain insight into the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This can help clients overcome obstacles and create positive change in their lives.
One significant area of my practice is working with couples on issues related to physical and emotional intimacy and sexual disorders. My goal is to provide psychoeducation and tools that can help clients reconnect with each other and build a successful, fulfilling intimate life.
My approach is centered on helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. By combining evidence-based techniques with a compassionate and client-centered approach, I strive to empower my clients to achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives.
What you can expect from sessions with Chaya Travis
As a therapist, I strongly believe in the importance of following a "golden thread" through my sessions with clients. This means creating a sense of direction and focus that connects each session to the next in a meaningful way. By doing so, clients are able to see how their progress and insights are building upon one another over time.
Throughout our work together, I make a point to reflect on what I am hearing from my clients. This helps to ensure that I am truly understanding their experiences and concerns. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive holding environment that fosters a sense of safety and trust. By building a strong therapeutic relationship, I am better able to help my clients achieve their goals and create positive changes in their lives.
In addition to reflection, I also prioritize collaboration with my clients. Together, we identify areas of focus and set goals that align with their values and desires. Through ongoing dialogue and feedback, we are able to adapt our approach as needed to ensure that we are making meaningful progress toward these goals.
