💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🔥 Energetic 🙏 SpiritualWhy Avigail Steinharter, 200-YTT, SRT, BWF chose to be in the helping profession
I believe deeply in life and in the human capacity to live a fuller, more enlivened, and more connected life. Through my own experience, I have seen how working through the body can be infinitely more powerful than working with the mind alone. The body carries wisdom, memory, emotion, and truth, and I continue to be inspired by its natural ability to heal, restore, and guide us back to ourselves. Again and again, I am amazed by the way the body reveals deep soul truths when we are willing to listen.
I have always felt drawn to understanding my own soul more deeply, and that journey continues to shape the way I work with others. Over time, I have come to believe that, ironically, we often have to descend more fully into our human experience in order to access the most divine parts of ourselves. Healing is not about escaping who we are, but about becoming more fully present within ourselves, our bodies, and our lives. It is an incredible honor to walk alongside people as they uncover their own truths, reconnect with themselves, and experience the profound transformation this work can bring. I remain in awe of the wonders that can unfold through this process every single day.
Avigail Steinharter, 200-YTT, SRT, BWF's approach
Whether in a Somatic Experiencing session or during Holotropic Breathwork, I meet each client with deep love, compassion, and appreciation for who they are and all they have already survived and overcome. I believe healing begins with feeling safe enough to be fully seen, and I strive to create a space where people can soften, breathe, and reconnect with themselves without judgment or pressure. Together, we slow down and listen closely to the wisdom of the body, allowing sensations, emotions, meaning, and inner guidance to arise naturally and uniquely for each individual. Rather than forcing insight or change, I trust the body’s own intelligence and capacity to reveal what is ready to unfold.
My approach is gentle, grounded, and deeply attuned to each person’s nervous system and pace. I work carefully to help clients feel safe while creating space for stress, trauma, and old patterns to begin releasing from the body in a supported and manageable way. Because this work happens on such a deep level, often within the very cells of the body, the shifts can feel powerful, meaningful, and lasting. At the same time, I believe healing does not have to be heavy all the time. Curiosity, playfulness, openness, and the willingness to explore new possibilities are all essential parts of the process, and I try to bring those qualities into the work whenever possible.
What you can expect from sessions with Avigail Steinharter, 200-YTT, SRT, BWF
I offer both Somatic Experiencing and Holotropic Breathwork, and I help each client determine which approach feels most supportive for where they are in their healing process. While both modalities work deeply with the body and nervous system, they offer very different experiences, and together we can decide what feels safest, most aligned, and most beneficial for you. My Somatic Experiencing sessions focus on slowing things down and creating enough safety for the body to begin communicating what it needs. Through grounding work, boundary work, nervous system regulation, and careful attention to bodily sensations, we allow the body to “speak” in its own language and guide the healing process naturally.
This work can support both emotional and physical symptoms because so much of what we carry lives beneath conscious thought, held within the body itself. Rather than pushing for insight or catharsis, we gently create space for the nervous system to release stress, trauma, and survival patterns at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. I believe there is incredible wisdom in slowing down enough to truly listen to ourselves, and these sessions are designed to help clients reconnect with that inner wisdom in a grounded and sustainable way.
Holotropic Breathwork offers a very different, but equally powerful, path into healing and self-discovery. These sessions involve over an hour of intentional breathing techniques combined with carefully personalized music, allowing you to move underneath the usual thought patterns, defenses, and mind loops that can keep us feeling stuck. By breathing in this specific way, people are often able to access parts of themselves that are not typically available in ordinary consciousness. Insights, emotions, memories, creativity, and deep release can arise naturally through the experience without needing to force or analyze anything intellectually.
Many clients leave Breathwork sessions feeling lighter, clearer, more connected to themselves, and renewed in a profound way. At the same time, I believe the most important part of this work is the integration process afterward, where we begin making meaning of what surfaced and how it can support lasting change in everyday life. Because of that, this work includes an intention-setting planning session beforehand as well as a follow-up integration call afterward. Holotropic Breathwork is truly a powerful, transformative, and honestly super cool experience, and I continue to be amazed by what can unfold through it.
Avigail Steinharter, 200-YTT, SRT, BWF's experience working with the Jewish community
I have been teaching and working within the Chareidi community for over 30 years, including 32 years in Bais Yaakov schools as well as experience in Modern Orthodox high schools. Over the decades, I have had the privilege of working with students and families of all ages and stages of life, giving me a deep understanding of the unique values, pressures, dynamics, and sensitivities that exist within these communities. My professional experience, combined with the relationships I have built over so many years, has given me a strong sense of connection to the people and communities I serve. I understand the nuances that are often unspoken, and I know how important it is to approach this work with respect, familiarity, and cultural awareness.
Beyond my professional background, I am also a mother and grandmother of a large family, and I come from a well-known Jewish family that is very much part of this community as well. My connection to the Orthodox world is not only professional, it is deeply personal and woven into every part of my life. Because of that, I bring both lived experience and professional understanding into the work I do with individuals and families. I would say my experience is extensive, but more importantly, it has given me genuine insight, compassion, and appreciation for the realities people navigate every day within the Jewish community.
