Yocheved Newman, LCSW's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Yocheved Newman, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
I chose to become a therapist because of my own difficult experiences growing up, especially during my teenage years. Navigating pain, confusion, and emotional challenges at a young age showed me how isolating those experiences can feel when support is missing, and how deeply we all need to feel understood. Through my own healing journey, I came to recognize how powerful it is to be truly seen, heard, and supported by someone who meets you with empathy and care. Those early experiences shaped not only my path, but also my belief that healing is possible, even from deep and painful wounds.
Over time, I began to understand that healing is not about erasing the past, but about finding meaning, resilience, and growth through it. My experiences inspired me to help others discover hope during moments that may feel overwhelming or uncertain. Becoming a therapist allows me to turn hardship into purpose by walking alongside others as they navigate their own healing journeys. I aim to create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to grow, and empowered to reconnect with their strengths.
Yocheved Newman, LCSW's approach
My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, grounded in the belief that healing is possible for everyone, no matter how painful or overwhelming their experiences may feel. I strive to work collaboratively with clients, creating a safe and supportive space where they feel seen, heard, and respected, and where they can move at a pace that feels right for them. My goal is to help clients feel understood and empowered, while building a trusting relationship that supports honest reflection and meaningful change. I believe that when people feel safe enough to be themselves, growth and healing can begin to unfold naturally.
My work is informed by extensive experience, particularly within the Jewish community, and guided by values of dignity, empathy, and honoring each person’s unique journey. I integrate evidence-based practices such as EMDR and mindfulness, while also bringing warmth, humor, and genuine care into the therapeutic process. Together, we focus on building resilience, processing trauma, and making sense of difficult experiences in a way that feels manageable and hopeful. I aim to support clients in moving toward growth and self-discovery while helping them reconnect with their strengths and capacity for healing.
