Why Rachel Tuchman, LMHC chose to be in the helping profession

I have always found fulfillment in fostering positive change in people's lives through the mental health field. It is incredibly gratifying to witness individuals overcome challenges, grow emotionally, and develop healthier ways of coping.

I trained to become a mental health professional because I wanted to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Seeing the transformative power of therapy and the potential for healing inspired me to pursue this path.

I enjoy building strong connections with my clients, creating a safe and supportive space for them to explore their emotions and thoughts. Guiding individuals through their personal journeys and witnessing their progress brings me a deep sense of joy and purpose.

Rachel Tuchman, LMHC's approach

While I commonly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary therapeutic modality, I also incorporate ABA and DBT techniques to tailor the treatment to each client's unique needs. For clients who may not have the prerequisite skills or capabilities to be immediately insightful, I draw upon my background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to target and address problem behaviors effectively.

As a straightforward and no-nonsense practitioner, my focus is on facilitating effective and efficient treatment. I believe in empowering clients to become their own agents of change and acquire the necessary skills and insights to manage their challenges independently. While I am committed to providing compassionate support, my ultimate goal is to empower clients with the tools and strategies to navigate life's complexities confidently, enabling them to thrive beyond therapy without becoming reliant on ongoing treatment.

My practice is dedicated to helping a diverse range of clients, including kids, adults, and women facing specific challenges. With children, I focus on addressing emotional and behavioral issues, with anxiety being a prominent concern. I'm deeply committed to helping these young minds navigate their feelings and develop healthy coping strategies. As part of my services, I also offer parent training through private sessions and a comprehensive 4-week parenting series in both public and private groups.

For adults, I am experienced in working with various struggles, including depressive symptoms, anxiety, anger management, and relationship issues. I provide a safe and supportive space for individuals facing marriage struggles, addressing issues such as infidelity and communication difficulties. My aim is to empower clients and guide them toward finding greater happiness and fulfillment in their lives, even during the challenges of dating.

A significant aspect of my practice is providing support to women dealing with infertility, including those who have experienced pregnancy loss. I am deeply sensitive to the emotional journey of women undergoing fertility treatments and provide unwavering support during this difficult time. Additionally, I extend my expertise and compassion to women who have undergone hysterectomy, offering understanding and care to help them navigate this significant life change.
