Why Rachel Tuchman chose to be in the helping profession
My practice focuses on treating kids, adults and women with infertility and post hysterectomy.
I work with children experiencing emotional and behavioral issues. Currently, the most common issue I treat is anxiety. I also provide parent training in private sessions and in the form of a 4 week parenting series (public and private groups).
I work with adults struggling with depressive symptoms, anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, marriage struggles (infidelity, communications issues), general unhappiness and provide support for individuals in the dating phase of life.
I also work with women experiencing infertility (including pregnancy loss) and post hysterectomy. I provide support to women going through the treatment process and to those who have experienced losses.
Rachel Tuchman's approach
In sessions we are problem focused and action oriented. I strive to give clients self-help techniques so upon discharge from treatment the client is equipped with skills to ensure they can handle life’s inevitable bumps on their own.
What you can expect from sessions with Rachel Tuchman
For clients who may not have the pre-requisite skills or capabilities to be insightful I use my background in Applied Behavior analysis (ABA) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to target problem behaviors. My most common therapeutic modality is Cognitive Behavioral (CBT). My philosophy is very much “mind over matter” and I encourage clients to start thinking differently in order to feel differently. I am a very no nonsense practitioner. I don’t want my clients in therapy forever.
