Why Nechama Quinn chose to be in the helping profession

I am deeply committed to helping others find meaning and purpose in their lives, even in the midst of pain and difficulty. I believe there is a unique beauty that can only be discovered by confronting the challenges we would rather avoid and demonstrating courage and determination in the face of adversity.

As a therapist, I am honored to witness the profound internal struggles that my clients face and provide them with the guidance and support they need to navigate these challenges. I am passionate about empowering my clients to tap into their inner strengths and resources and develop the resilience and self-awareness they need to overcome obstacles and thrive in their lives.

I feel privileged to be able to accompany my clients on their journey of growth and self-discovery, and I am dedicated to providing them with the highest level of care and support. Ultimately, my goal is to help my clients to live their lives with greater purpose, meaning, and fulfillment, and to create a better world for themselves and those around them.

Nechama Quinn's approach

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I believe in breaking down any problem a client wants to target into its component parts, including thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and specific behaviors. I then apply appropriate interventions to each component as needed.

In addition, I incorporate third-wave CBT modalities and principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) whenever possible to provide a holistic and personalized approach to each client. This helps my clients to develop greater awareness and acceptance of their thoughts and emotions and to identify and shift unhelpful patterns of behavior that may be holding them back.

I provide comprehensive and adherent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) services for children and families to help them manage intense emotions and improve their communication and relationship skills. I also offer DBT services for adults and teens to help them cope with stress, improve their emotional regulation, and develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.

I aim to empower my clients with the tools and strategies they need to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and lead fulfilling lives. I am committed to providing compassionate and personalized care, and I work collaboratively with each client to ensure that their unique needs and goals are addressed in every session.

What you can expect from sessions with Nechama Quinn

In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative and goal-oriented approach. Together, we will establish clear and specific goals that we will continuously assess to ensure that we are making progress toward them.

At the start of each session, we will create an agenda to ensure that we use our time together effectively and address the most pressing issues. While our sessions may involve some laughter and light-hearted moments, our primary focus will be on helping you accept the things you cannot change and change the things you can through making positive changes in your life to build a meaningful and fulfilling existence.

Throughout our sessions, I will provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, and to develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance. I will also provide practical tools and strategies to help you manage your emotions, cope with stress, and navigate life's challenges with greater ease and resilience.

Nechama Quinn's experience working with the Jewish community

I have had the privilege of working with the Jewish community for the past six years, primarily in seminaries in Yerushalayim. During this time, I have gained valuable insights and experiences that have enabled me to provide culturally-sensitive and effective support to individuals and families within this community.

As a clinician at the CBT/DBT center under the guidance of Dr. Chaya Lieba Kobernick since August 2022, I have continued to build upon my expertise and knowledge in the field of mental health. I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including immigrant families, from younger children through to older parents.

My experience has taught me the importance of building strong relationships with my clients, and of understanding and respecting their unique cultural backgrounds and values. I am committed to providing compassionate and culturally-sensitive care that is tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client.

I am passionate about helping members of the Jewish community to overcome challenges, improve their mental health and well-being, and achieve their goals. Whether it is through individual therapy or family counseling I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care and support to help my clients thrive.
