Why Michelle Halle, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

The day I watched a TV interview with Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross was the day I knew I’d be a therapist. During the program, Kubler-Ross talked about death, grief, and loss. As a child growing up in a community of Holocaust survivors, I was familiar with trauma and grief and the shadow it cast over everyone’s life. The survivors I knew suffered in silence and there, on national TV, was Kubler-Ross, speaking openly about the unspeakable. Her work was groundbreaking, and I wanted to be part of it, too. I wanted to help people talk about their struggles and conflicts and help them heal.

Michelle Halle, LCSW's approach

All healthy relationships are based on trust and our therapeutic relationship will be the same. It will be a unique experience, a type of relationship found only in the therapy room. We will work together to understand your past and how to come to terms with it. This will enable you to live your life in the present; live it fully, unapologetically, and creatively.

What you can expect from sessions with Michelle Halle, LCSW

Working with me may not always be easy. I am gentle and compassionate, but I will challenge you while supporting you. Both you and I are in this relationship with a single goal - to help you grow.

Michelle Halle, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

I’ve lived, worked, and played in the Jewish community all my life. While my roots are strong, I know what it’s like to feel like you’re standing on shaky ground. I also know that no matter where we stand, we need to feel attached to ourselves and to our community. We need to belong. You belong to yourself first. When you can fully accept and embrace yourself, you will feel comfortable in every setting. My role is to help you achieve this.
