Why Leah Davidowitz chose to be in the helping profession

I feel fortunate to work as a Parenting Educator and Childhood Therapist. I offer individual sessions as well as parenting groups / workshops. Supporting parents and families is both fulfilling and gratifying.

After I establish a relationship with parents, and assess their strengths and struggles, we begin the work of creating a tailor made plan to address the challenges that the family faces.

Whether it’s Parental Anger, anxiety in children, sibling rivalry, rebellious behavior, I utilize research based methods to teach strategies and skills to target difficulties. Very often, parents are unsure how to teach their child the skills that are necessary to successfully cope with problematic situations. My work involves empowering parents to be their child's strongest ally. To help their child figure out how to recognize and learn from their mistakes; rather than punish them for mistakes.

My 12+ years of experience as a Licensed Psychotherapist help me pinpoint what is standing in the way of your family thriving. I have received training in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and more. The modality I use in sessions, depends on the needs of my clients.

I am in high spirits when parents no longer need my services and are equipped with techniques and skills that they will turn to for a lifetime.
