Hi! I’m Julia, a Registered Dietitian supporting clients in the Montreal, Quebec area as well as individuals throughout Israel. I work with people from many different backgrounds, each coming in with their own experiences, questions, and goals around food and health. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to meet clients where they are. I believe nutrition support should feel supportive and realistic, not restrictive or overwhelming.
My interest in nutrition began during my teenage years, when nutrition and body image were personal struggles for me. Wanting to better understand food, health, and my own relationship with eating led me to pursue formal training in nutrition so I could help others facing similar challenges and beyond. Along the way, I was also drawn to the role nutrition plays in chronic disease prevention and long term health. Throughout my studies and professional journey, I developed a non-diet approach that continues to guide my work today.
In my practice, I support clients in reaching their nutrition goals while also helping them build a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food. Rather than focusing on rigid rules or quick fixes, I prioritize sustainable habits that can fit into real life. My goal is to help clients feel more confident in their food choices and more connected to their bodies. Together, we work toward nourishment that supports both physical health and overall well being.
Julia Liber, RD's approach
My approach is fundamentally client centered and deeply rooted in empathy. I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore your own motivations, values, and goals, while incorporating Intuitive Eating principles to support healing your relationship with food. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel heard, respected, and understood. Our work together is guided by curiosity rather than judgment, and by progress rather than perfection.
When working with me, we work as a team. You bring the expertise of knowing your own body and lived experience, and I bring my knowledge and training as a nutrition professional. I meet you exactly where you are, without pressure to change faster than feels right for you. Together, we create a supportive, non judgmental space where we build sustainable, nourishing habits that truly fit your life and support your overall well being.
What you can expect from sessions with Julia Liber, RD
In our work together, you can expect to be met with careful listening, mutual respect, and a genuine focus on your unique journey. Our sessions are designed to truly understand your history, challenges, and goals, while still keeping forward progress at the center of our work. I value creating a space where you feel comfortable sharing openly, knowing that your experiences are honored. Each conversation is shaped around what matters most to you and what feels realistic in your life right now.
Rather than handing out rigid meal plans or one size fits all solutions, I partner with you to develop practical tools and sustainable habits that fit seamlessly into your daily life. Every step of the process is collaborative and thoughtfully paced, allowing change to feel supportive rather than overwhelming. I meet you where you are, and we build from there together. My goal is to help ensure the changes we create are lasting and truly supportive of your overall well being.
Julia Liber, RD's experience working with the Jewish community
As a Jewish and observant professional myself, I bring a high level of cultural competency and lived experience into my work with clients in the community. I understand firsthand how Jewish holidays, Kashrut, family dynamics, and communal events can intersect with nutrition, body image, and overall well being. These experiences shape how we eat, gather, and relate to food, and they deserve to be acknowledged with care and sensitivity. My goal is to ensure that your cultural and religious values are never an afterthought in our work together.
I am deeply committed to providing culturally informed care that honors your values and adapts seamlessly to your traditions. This includes navigating holidays, fasting, and food centered gatherings in a way that feels supportive rather than stressful. I also recognize the unique pressures that can arise within community settings and how they may impact your relationship with food and your body. Together, we address these challenges thoughtfully, creating an approach to nutrition that respects your identity while supporting your health and well being.

What people have to say about working with me:
-
I highly recommend Julia’s services. Online dietary and nutritional information in relation to medical conditions can confuse and overwhelm. Julia’s guidance was invaluable. She addressed my misconceptions; gave me a flexible, expandable plan for the daily diet I needed to address my problem; was attentive to my individual needs and preferences; and answered whatever questions I had in the course of our sessions. Working with her was a pleasure.

Working with Julia to review my nutrition was a great experience. Her advice is based on thorough analysis of current habits and is adapted to individual needs and goals. I wanted to ensure I was getting everything I needed while maintaining a vegetarian diet and Julia was able to make many helpful and easy to implement recommendations.

I've been professionally connected with Julia Liber for 2 years. We met through our mutual work with eating disorder clients in Israel. I love collaborating with Julia because she brings confidence, excitement, and passion into our work together. We have recently been collaborating to create group programming for women in Israel to improve their relationships with food and their body. Julia brings her professional knowledge, compassion, and kindness into her work both with clients and as a colleague. She's always flexible and willing to try new ideas. I love collaborating with Julia!
