Why Elisheva Allon chose to be in the helping profession
As a child, I always had an interest in healthy eating and maintaining a balanced diet. I was the kid who brought nuts and fruit for snacks, but I also allowed myself to indulge in chips and other treats without feeling guilty. However, as I entered my late teens, I became consumed by diet culture and body image concerns.
Despite my struggles, I continued to pursue a degree in Dietetics in the hopes of gaining a greater understanding of health and nutrition. It wasn't until the end of my degree that I realized my relationship with food was unhealthy and not sustainable. I felt trapped by strict rules and guidelines and found that I was unable to enjoy certain foods without feeling guilty.
Determined to change my approach to food, I began to study the research and change my mindset around food. I learned to honor my hunger and fullness while still allowing myself to enjoy all types of food. Through this process, I discovered a newfound sense of trust in my body and its needs.
This transformation was life-changing for me and motivated me to pursue a career in helping others achieve a similar healthy relationship with food. Today, as a professional in the helping profession, I use my knowledge and experience to guide others toward a positive and fulfilling relationship with food.

As a nutrition counselor, my approach is centered around encouraging my clients to listen to their bodies and trust their own internal signals rather than relying on strict diet rules. I believe that by focusing on how different foods make us feel, we can make more informed and sustainable choices that nourish both our physical and mental health. I also prioritize helping clients develop a neutral relationship with food, free from the guilt and judgment that often accompanies certain eating habits or choices.
