Why Basya Kovacs chose to be in the helping profession

I was fortunate to grow up in a nurturing environment where the utmost importance was placed on extending a helping hand to others. My parents, who continue to embody this ethos, dedicated their lives to Jewish outreach. Yet, their approach to outreach transcended religious boundaries, as they believe that their mission is not just to bring Jews back to Judaism but to ensure that every person they encounter feels loved and valuable.

My mother, a radiant and spirited force of nature, modeled an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. It was not uncommon for her to be the last to leave an event.
When I would ask her why she was out so late, she would simply explain that she couldn't leave if there might still be individuals who required an extra dose of kindness or a compassionate ear.

During my teenage years, before I embarked on social outings, my parents would bid me farewell with a heartfelt reminder: "Have a wonderful time, and remember to uplift and embrace others, make them feel valued and included." This message made a tremendous impact on me, and gave me the confidence to go beyond myself and to consider the needs of others.

Internalizing these teachings, I have always considered it my personal responsibility and calling to validate the struggles of others, empathize with their challenges, and offer solace that lightens their burdens.

As a young adult, I knew I wanted to go into the helping professions - the plan was to be a therapist. However, my parents, with their deep understanding of the weight and gravity associated with such a profession, cautioned against it. Consequently, my journey took me on a winding path, dotted with diverse experiences, and eventually, I discovered my true vocation as a transformation coach. Being a coach affords me the opportunity to empower women to embrace their true potential, all while keeping their focus firmly rooted in the present and future.

Years ago, I wasn't taking good care of myself, and I had no energy. I was 30 lbs heavier, and didn't feel comfortable in my skin.

I tried all sorts of diets before I finally said, “This is crazy. No more.” I realized that a diet won’t get to the root of the struggle no matter how amazing a diet it is.

And I realized that losing weight by restricting or depriving myself won't actually help me develop the habits and mindsets that I need to keep it off for good. While it might change my body, it wouldn't change ME.

And so, I developed a program that combines the mindsets, strategies, and habits that will empower you to lose weight and keep it off, and at the same time, turn challenges into growth opportunities.

Basya Kovacs's approach

I see you. I see your struggle to look and feel your best. I see all the different attempts to lose weight. And I understand the feeling of being stuck. I know that you have tried so many different things, and nothing has worked. And even if it worked, it didn't stick. And I get the frustration of feeling like everyone else seems to have it so easy while you are left to struggle.

I know that it's hard. I understand that there are so many different factors affecting your ability to lose weight. You are busy. Or you have medical conditions. Or you are struggling with stress, anxiety, and strong emotions.

What sets my coaching approach apart is the ability to facilitate the physical changes my clients are looking for (weight loss and healthy relationship with food) and emotional transformation at the same time. By laying the groundwork with a proven strategy, and delving deep into my clients' limited beliefs, real change takes root. And by establishing a profound rapport with my clients, fostering abundant self-acceptance, and infusing humor into our exploration of the human condition, transformation flourishes. I possess a unique ability to connect with my clients and quickly pinpoint the core issues underlying my clients' struggles, guide them toward a position of strength and empowerment with remarkable efficacy.

In addition to holding various coaching certificates and having undergone extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my wealth of experience lies in coaching clients within the food and eating niche. This niche has granted me invaluable insights and expertise that I bring to each coaching session. Furthermore, my personal experiences conquering my own weight loss challenges, alongside my spiritual journey, significantly shapes my coaching style. This fusion of experiences fuels my passion for helping others and fosters profound healing within my clients.

By intertwining my coaching expertise, comprehensive training, and profound personal experiences, I offer a transformative coaching experience that enables my clients to overcome obstacles, embrace growth, and embark on their own journeys of healing and self-discovery.

What you can expect from sessions with Basya Kovacs

I am deeply passionate about guiding my clients on a transformative journey toward reducing shame, embracing their humanity, and ultimately thriving in every aspect of their lives. I possess a profound awareness of the challenges my clients face in relation to food, with a deep understanding of the underlying struggles that contribute to disordered or disorganized eating patterns. I get it. And I can help you make powerful, lasting changes efficiently and effectively.

This understanding and expertise led me to create the groundbreaking SMART™ program, which stands for:

S - Strategy:
Together, we will craft a fully customized weight loss strategy tailored specifically to your needs. This comprehensive plan will empower you with the knowledge and tools to achieve sustainable weight loss without ever experiencing feelings of hunger or deprivation.

M - Mindset:
We address the deep-rooted mindsets and limiting beliefs that have held you back, replacing them with the transformative "6 WINNERS MINDSETS" that will revolutionize your life. By reshaping your mindset, you will pave the way for lasting change and personal growth.

A - Accountability:
My program incorporates a robust daily accountability system, ensuring that your newfound habits become ingrained and second nature. This level of accountability will facilitate the development of the necessary habits for sustained transformation.

R - Regulation:
Together, we delve into the emotions that influence your relationship with food, not merely managing them, but enabling you to thrive. My approach to emotional regulation is a fusion of therapeutic best practices, such as the Demartini Method, spirituality, and fostering a connection with Hashem (God). By understanding God's profound love for us and embracing life's challenges as opportunities for growth, we can navigate this journey called LIFE more effectively.

T - Time:
A vitall component of the program, you will receive my undivided attention and support. I provide my personal cell phone number to each client, ensuring that you feel 100% supported and have access to guidance between sessions.

The SMART™ strategy is grounded in the understanding that the key to successful weight loss lies not in discovering the elusive perfect diet, but in restoring your relationship with food. It involves shedding the disinformation accumulated from years of dieting and addressing the underlying factors that hinder or derail our progress.

Through the SMART™ program, I am committed to guiding you toward lasting change, empowering you to reclaim control over your relationship with food, and helping you cultivate a thriving and wholesome life. Together, we will embark on a journey of transformation, healing, and self-discovery that will transcend mere weight loss, leading to holistic well-being and a renewed sense of vitality.

What my clients have to say about working with me:

  • There are many wellness coaches that know much about nutrition, exercise, and health. But rare is a wellness coach like Basya, who has a deep understanding of all of those areas, combined with a deep understanding of people, and specifically, the person sitting in front of her. She meets her clients where they are at; in their health, in their mindset, and in their own personal goals. Her ability to empathize, yet lead one to her goals in a recipe for success, emotionally and physically.

  • When I signed up to work with Basya, I was skeptical. I figured it was just another diet, more of the same. I wish you could hear my passion as I say the next few words - there is something unique about Basya’s approach! Much of what I learned from working with Basya was life changing and mind blowing. What is obvious to her, probably should have been obvious to me all my life. But… it wasn’t. 🥴 Basya’s commitment to the truth and her determination to help people succeed is quite impressive.
