Why Yehoshua Kronglas, LSW chose to be in the helping profession

I have seen the unfortunate consequences of poor mental health, and am deeply passionate about spreading emotional wellness to those around me. Mental and emotional well-being shape every aspect of our lives, and I feel a strong calling to help others navigate their struggles.

I have a particular passion for relationships—whether between couples or parents and children—because studies consistently show that these connections have the greatest impact on a person's quality of life. When these relationships are strong and healthy, they provide a foundation for overall well-being.

I have been blessed with a keen perception of people, an ability to understand emotions and dynamics that are not always obvious to others. I feel it is my responsibility to use this gift to help those in need. Within the yeshiva community, there is a noticeable shortage of therapists, and I want to be someone that even the most right-wing therapy skeptics can feel comfortable turning to for guidance and support.

Beyond that, I truly love what I do. Helping others in this way is not just a profession for me—it is an opportunity to engage in chessed at the highest level. Being able to positively impact lives every day makes my work incredibly meaningful, and I wholeheartedly believe in the saying, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life."

Yehoshua Kronglas, LSW's approach

I take a person-centered approach, valuing each client's unique lived experience and perspective. My goal is to provide a supportive and empowering environment where they feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment. Together, we identify the changes they want to see in their lives and create a practical path toward achieving those goals.

I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, recognizing it as the cornerstone of meaningful progress. My priority is to ensure that every client—regardless of background—feels comfortable, understood, and respected in my presence.

Additionally, my Torah background is an integral part of who I am, and it naturally informs my work. While I tailor my approach to each individual’s needs, my values and perspective remain rooted in the deep wisdom and understanding that Torah provides.

Above all, I aim to help you reframe difficulties—not as insurmountable obstacles, but as challenges that can be overcome. Together, we will build an optimistic and resilient mindset, allowing you to see your path forward with clarity and confidence.

Yehoshua Kronglas, LSW's experience working with the Jewish community

Before becoming a therapist, I studied for many years at Beth Medrash Govoha, where I had the privilege of completing Shas and receiving semicha. To this day, I continue to learn there daily alongside my work, engaging with the diverse individuals who consider BMG their second home. This lifelong connection to Torah and the yeshiva world deeply informs my approach to therapy and helps me understand the unique needs of the Jewish community.

In addition to working with Jewish clients, I have experience providing therapy to a broad range of individuals, including non-Jewish clients, through New Jersey’s Intensive In-Home Care (IIC) program. This work has given me firsthand insight into various cultural and family dynamics by allowing me to see clients in their home environments, offering a more comprehensive understanding of their lived experiences.

I also facilitate supervised visitation for families required by Bais Din to have such arrangements as part of their divorce agreements. Through this work, I have collaborated with the Lakewood Bais HaVaad, further deepening my familiarity with the challenges that arise within the Jewish legal and communal framework. These experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective on the complexities of family life, both within and beyond the Jewish community, allowing me to provide informed, sensitive, and culturally attuned support to my clients.

I currently provide in-home therapy sessions for eligible youth through Teamcare, a Medicaid-funded program that also covers certain non-Medicaid clients who meet specific criteria. Additionally, I offer private sessions for adults in my office setting, which are not part of this program and are available at a rate of $100-$150 per session.
