Why Shiffy Weisz chose to be in the helping profession

I chose to be in the helping profession because I believe deeply in the power of human connection and in the capacity we all have for growth, healing, and meaningful change. I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s inner worlds, the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that shape who they are and how they move through life. From a young age, I found myself naturally curious about what people carry beneath the surface and how deeply our experiences can impact the way we see ourselves and others. That curiosity, along with a genuine desire to help people feel less alone in what they’re going through, is what ultimately led me to this work.

There is something incredibly meaningful to me about being present with someone in their vulnerability and creating a space where they feel truly seen, heard, and supported without judgment. I find real purpose in helping others navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and fulfilling. I believe that healing happens when we feel safe enough to be honest about our experiences and empowered enough to trust in our own resilience. It’s a privilege to walk alongside someone in that process and to witness the quiet, powerful moments of change that can unfold when a person feels understood, supported, and genuinely connected.

Shiffy Weisz's approach

My approach to therapy is client-centered, warm, and collaborative. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, respected, and accepted for who you are. I work to create that kind of environment, one where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace and in a way that feels safe and meaningful to them. Therapy is not about judgment or having all the answers right away. I see it as a partnership built on trust, connection, and curiosity, and I feel genuinely honored to walk alongside each person as they navigate their journey.

While I draw from a range of modalities, including mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and strengths-based approaches, my work is always guided by the unique needs, goals, and values of the individual in front of me. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because no two people are the same, and their healing process should reflect that. Together, we work to better understand patterns, build on existing strengths, and create space for growth and self-compassion. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to themselves and their ability to move through life with greater clarity and confidence.

What you can expect from sessions with Shiffy Weisz

You can expect our sessions to be a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely supported as we explore whatever feels most important to you. Whether that means processing emotions, working through challenges, understanding patterns, or building new tools for everyday life, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and grounded, not rushed or overwhelming, and I will always strive to meet you where you are with warmth, presence, and care.

I’ll bring curiosity, compassion, and respect to the work we do together. At times, I may gently offer reflections, insights, or approaches that can support your growth and deepen your understanding of yourself, but you will always be in the lead. I value creating a space where clients feel empowered to speak openly, explore honestly, and trust their own voice throughout the process. Over time, I hope our sessions become a place where you feel more connected to yourself, more aware of your strengths, and more confident in the direction you want to take in your life.

Shiffy Weisz's experience working with the Jewish community

I have experience working with individuals and families in the Orthodox Jewish community, and I understand the unique values, dynamics, and challenges that can arise within this context. I recognize that cultural background, family systems, community expectations, and religious identity can all play an important role in a person’s experiences and emotional well-being. Because of this, I strive to bring a culturally sensitive, thoughtful, and respectful approach to the work we do together. My goal is always to create a space where clients feel understood without needing to overexplain important parts of their lives or experiences.

I also understand that each person’s relationship to their community, beliefs, and identity is deeply personal and nuanced. There is no single experience that defines what it means to be part of the Orthodox Jewish community, and I approach each client with openness, curiosity, and respect for their individual perspective. I aim to support clients in a way that honors their values, personal experiences, and emotional needs while helping them navigate the challenges they may be facing. Above all, I want clients to feel safe bringing their full selves into the room and to know they will be met with compassion, understanding, and care.
