Why Rachel Shasho, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

From a young age, I found profound fascination in the intricate connection between the human mind, body, and soul. My early experiences with meditation and yoga ignited a curiosity about how these practices could bring a sense of calmness after a stressful day. This curiosity marked the beginning of my exploration into the realms of human expression and spirituality.

Throughout high school, I gravitated toward research projects that delved into human expression, such as studying body language. Simultaneously, I nurtured a deep curiosity about spirituality and the purpose of our existence. Recognizing the interconnectedness of these aspects within ourselves, I began to consider that delving into this field could offer a profound opportunity for self-discovery and connection with others.

As a truth seeker and an empathetic soul, I became known for asking probing questions and immersing myself in the art of understanding humans on a profound emotional level. Whether serving as the peacemaker for friends or the compassionate listener for my family, I developed a genuine passion for exploring the depths of our hearts and minds. This journey has been nothing short of incredible, revealing layers of complexity within ourselves and others that I could not have fully comprehended in my earlier years.

My excitement for this journey continues to grow as I engage with more souls eager to embark on their own paths of growth and self-discovery. Each encounter adds another layer to the tapestry of human experience, and I am motivated by the prospect of uncovering the beauty within ourselves and others.

Rachel Shasho, LCSW's approach

In my practice, I embrace a holistic perspective on healing, firmly believing that true healing originates from within. As your therapist, my role is that of compassionate support and guide, assisting you in uncovering your authentic self. When I engage with you, I see not just a diagnosis, but a complete and intricate individual.

Even in moments when you feel you've exhausted all avenues, I hold firm to the belief that within each of us resides an inner strength and wisdom waiting to be tapped into. I trust in the innate ability of your mind and body to facilitate its own healing. My approach is that of a gentle whisper and a source of comfort, providing the encouragement you need to progress on your journey toward healing.

Utilizing modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Inner-Child Work, and Somatics, I employ experiential therapies that contribute to the establishment of a supportive and secure therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore the depths of your mind, uncovering blockages that hinder the manifestation of the life you desire.

Through our collaborative efforts, we will work to dismantle subconscious patterns that may be holding you back, empowering you to construct the life you've envisioned. My commitment is to guide you through a transformative process, enabling you to understand how your mind shapes obstacles and assisting you in overcoming these challenges to create the fulfilling life you dream of living.

What you can expect from sessions with Rachel Shasho, LCSW

Our sessions are structured into two integral parts, each designed to guide you on a transformative journey. In the initial phase, we focus on identifying and dismantling blockages and subconscious patterns that may be hindering your personal growth. The subsequent part is dedicated to envisioning your future and actively creating positive changes in your present life.

My commitment is to genuinely understand you as an individual and to reinforce the notion that you are cared for and not alone in your struggles. Throughout our sessions, we will delicately explore the various facets of your personality, understanding how they influence your life. We will journey back to your younger self, your inner child, unraveling the impact of your past on your present. Together, we will initiate lasting changes in your nervous system and attachment patterns.

Many of us carry wounded parts of our inner child that prompt extreme reactions we later regret. I firmly believe that the most extreme reactions are manifestations of unmet childhood needs for support, nurture, empathy, and guidance. In our collaborative work, we will learn how to soothe and nurture these inner child parts, facilitating profound healing at the core of your being.

As our therapeutic relationship builds trust, we will also explore future goals without limitations. I hold a strong belief that by staying true to your dreams, regardless of their size or perceived challenges, you can manifest them into reality. I am here to assist you in tapping into the innate power within you, empowering you to create a life that you genuinely love. By embracing even the smallest sense of your potential, you can initiate significant and positive changes—all it takes is that one small step.
