Naomi Steier's style
💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🌎 HolisticWhy Naomi Steier chose to be in the helping profession
With an enduring commitment to assisting others and a keen interest in mental health, I have discovered my passion. As I reflect on my childhood, I recognize the absence of discussions around health both at home and school, leaving me unaware of its significance. Now, my focus lies in psychoeducation, where I impart knowledge on recognizing signs of mental health issues, establishing healthy routines, fostering safe spaces for discussing mental well-being, and promoting self-care. Moreover, as our lives as students, parents, and children have become increasingly complex, I strive to guide individuals through the transitions of college, motherhood, dating, and navigating family relationships. Deeply empathetic towards those grappling with mental health challenges or difficult circumstances, I endeavor to play an integral role in a client's support system.
Naomi Steier's approach
In my therapeutic approach, I place great emphasis on the strengths that you already possess. Together, we start from a place where you feel comfortable and gradually build upon that foundation. I draw from various evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, which have proven to be highly effective in addressing a wide range of concerns.
One aspect that I particularly value is the importance of healthy routines. I firmly believe that establishing structured and balanced routines can have a positive impact on overall well-being. During our sessions, we will work collaboratively to explore and identify routines that work best for you, taking into account your unique circumstances and preferences.
Furthermore, I understand that the therapeutic journey can extend beyond the confines of our scheduled sessions. To ensure continuous support, I make myself available for additional guidance and assistance through phone or text communication. This way, you have a reliable means of reaching out whenever you may need it.
What you can expect from sessions with Naomi Steier
My utmost priority is to establish a secure and non-judgmental environment for my clients, ensuring they derive the maximum benefits from the therapeutic process. Building a strong rapport with each client is at the forefront of my approach. I firmly believe that without the client's complete trust in their therapist and the clinician's commitment to understanding the client's life and values, therapy may not yield the desired outcomes. Collaboratively, we create goals, set boundaries, and explore areas of personal growth in a manner that is both challenging and comfortable.
The integration of positive coping skills and self-care into your daily life holds profound importance to me. This enables you to effectively confront any challenges that may arise along your journey. My overarching aim is to help you leverage your existing strengths, cultivate new skills, gain deeper insights, and ultimately regain a sense of control in your life.
Naomi Steier's experience working with the Jewish community
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving clients from diverse backgrounds, encompassing various demographics, walks of life, and socioeconomic statuses. Yet, my greatest passion lies in working with the Jewish community. I strongly believe that there is still work to be done in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health struggles and treatment within our community, and I am driven to contribute to this transformative movement.
Being able to give back and support my peers within the Jewish community is a source of deep gratitude for me. I recognize that we often remain unaware of the challenges and circumstances faced by individuals in our own communities, schools, and even families. It brings me joy to be there for people when they feel they have nowhere else to turn, providing a compassionate and understanding presence.
By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, I aim to play a role in promoting mental well-being and offering assistance within my community. Together, we can break down barriers, promote understanding, and cultivate a sense of unity and support among individuals navigating their mental health journeys.
