From a young age, I have been captivated by the therapy process. The ability to form genuine connections with others, help them navigate their lives, and provide support through difficult times has always held a special place in my heart. In a world where so many individuals feel pressured to hide their true selves and put on a façade, therapy offers a unique opportunity for authentic connection and self-exploration. I find it deeply gratifying to be able to offer a safe and supportive space for individuals to process their emotions, work through challenges, and ultimately achieve greater self-awareness and personal growth. As a therapist, I am honored to play a role in this transformative process and to witness the incredible resilience and strength of my clients. Ultimately, my passion for therapy stems from the belief that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in their journey towards greater well-being and fulfillment.
Menachem Stulberger, LMFT's approach
My approach to therapy centers on meeting my clients where they are and tailoring my approach to their unique needs and goals. I believe that equipping clients with practical skills and tools can be immensely helpful, especially when emotions are running high and feeling overwhelmed. However, I also recognize the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel free to express themselves and explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. In my experience, when clients feel heard and validated, they are more likely to feel empowered to take ownership of their own healing process. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, emphasizing that they are the experts on their own experiences and ultimately in control of their own therapy journey. By empowering clients to take an active role in their healing, I believe that therapy can be a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation.
What you can expect from sessions with Menachem Stulberger, LMFT
At the outset of therapy, I prioritize reviewing key components of informed consent, confidentiality, and considerations related to virtual therapy. While virtual therapy can be a highly effective modality for some clients, it is not always the best fit for everyone. As such, I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure that virtual therapy is working for them and that they feel comfortable and supported throughout the process. Building a strong therapeutic alliance and rapport is essential in the early stages of therapy, and I strive to simultaneously work on the presenting issues that brought the client to therapy. Equipping clients with practical skills and homework assignments to work on outside of sessions is another important aspect of my approach, as it can help to facilitate growth and progress between sessions. I prioritize checking in with clients at the start of each session, providing a brief summary of our previous work together, and inviting clients to share any updates or concerns they may have. Finally, I strongly believe that the therapy process should be client-driven and centered around the client's goals and needs, rather than my own agenda.
Menachem Stulberger, LMFT's experience working with the Jewish community
Throughout my career, I have been privileged to serve the Jewish community in a variety of capacities. As an elementary school teacher, I had the opportunity to teach both Judaic and secular subjects, helping to instill a love of learning and a deep connection to Jewish heritage in my students. Later, I worked as a tutor, providing individualized support and guidance to students of all ages and backgrounds. More recently, I have expanded my work to include serving as an adjunct professor at Touro College Los Angeles and working with clients within the Jewish community in my private practice. It is an honor and a joy to contribute to the growth and development of individuals within this vibrant and diverse community.
