Allow me to introduce myself: I am Jessie, an educator and a Registered Dietitian. My previous career in teaching and my current dedication to dietetics blend seamlessly as I strive to provide the best nutrition counseling experience and up-to-date nutritional guidance. I specialize in working with diverse clients, from those seeking to optimize their nutrition for athletic performance to individuals grappling with weight concerns, women navigating the challenges of the pre and postpartum periods, and those simply aiming for overall health and wellness.
Over the course of my career, I have served as a lifestyle coach, a hospital consultant, and have maintained a thriving private practice. My approach to health is holistic, considering each individual's unique health situation and lifestyle. I accompany my clients on their journey to well-being, offering guidance that encompasses the entirety of their lives.
My journey into the helping profession began as a teacher, a path I embarked upon with great enthusiasm. However, as I stood before my students, I couldn't help but notice a crucial gap in their education, especially when it came to nutrition. It became clear to me that the knowledge of proper nutrition wasn't reaching children, young athletes, and parents as effectively as it should. It was this realization that prompted me to take a leap into the world of dietetics.
In the realm of dietetics, my focus gravitated towards working with women and children throughout their life journey. My mission was simple yet profound: to cultivate a new generation of individuals who were not just well-fed, but nutritionally educated. This journey also had a personal dimension, as a mother caught up in the daily hustle and bustle. It reignited my own passion for wellness and highlighted the importance of movement in living our best lives.
My philosophy revolves around forging a deeper connection between our bodies and the food we consume, fostering a sense of joy in eating, and ensuring that we feel truly nourished. The field of nutrition is a constantly evolving landscape, where research continually unveils better ways to strike a harmonious balance in our lives. My ultimate goal is to guide individuals through a series of gradual, positive changes in their nutrition, resulting in enhanced performance and an improved quality of everyday life.
Jessie Brownstien, RDN's approach
I believe in a caring and evidence-based approach to nutrition counseling. My aim is to provide patients with the support they need to achieve their goals while creating a warm and encouraging environment.
One of the key principles I promote is intuitive eating, which means listening to your body's cues and responding to them. It's about finding that natural balance and fostering a positive relationship with food. Through intuitive eating, I help patients make lasting changes that have a positive impact on their day-to-day lives.
