Chani Kahn, LPC's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 😃 HumorousWhy Chani Kahn, LPC chose to be in the helping profession
I've always known I wanted to be a therapist. I wanted to be someone people could trust to approach them with gentleness and respect, while also being honest and real. Walking alongside someone as they learn to understand and manage their emotions and triggers is one of the greatest privileges I can imagine. I love connecting with people directly and seeing my clients as whole, complex individuals, full of depth and beauty, even when they feel broken or stuck.
For me, therapy is about real change. Every day, I witness the ways it can help people reclaim their lives, discover new strengths, and create more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. I believe that everyone has access to this kind of healing and growth, and my role is to help guide that process in a compassionate, supportive, and grounded way. Being part of that journey is what makes this work meaningful and rewarding.
Chani Kahn, LPC's approach
I believe that many of us carry deep-seated shame from long-held beliefs and early experiences. These messages often shape the way we make decisions, react to challenges, and view ourselves, keeping the adult self stuck in the past and feeling powerless to create meaningful change. In therapy, we work to uncover and understand these often subconscious motivations and where they come from, always with the understanding that no thought or feeling is wrong or bad. Developing this self-awareness naturally reduces shame and anxiety, creating space for joy, growth, and a stronger sense of agency.
I also guide my clients through their traumas, walking alongside them as they face difficult emotions, grieve what was lost, and move toward acceptance. This process is collaborative and grounded in compassion, helping people reclaim their lives and their sense of self. By exploring both the roots of their pain and the ways they’ve learned to cope, clients can begin to experience healing that feels real, lasting, and life-affirming.
What you can expect from sessions with Chani Kahn, LPC
I structure my sessions to create a safe, supportive space where clients can ease in, reflect on what’s on their minds, and process their experiences fully, before winding down in a way that leaves them feeling calm, grounded, and ready to face the world outside. During our time together, I listen closely and help clients develop a deep understanding of themselves, learning to recognize and manage the different parts of who they are.
Therapy is a collaborative and creative process, and we work together to bring clarity and balance to the mind. No topic is off limits, and clients often come to realize that their feelings and experiences make sense, that their struggles are shared, and that they are not alone. My goal is to guide them toward insight, self-compassion, and a greater sense of agency in their lives.
Chani Kahn, LPC's experience working with the Jewish community
I have had the privilege of working with many different populations, both within and outside of the Jewish community, and with Jews from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of observance. As an Orthodox woman, I have a deep understanding of the culture, values, and challenges that shape the experiences of Jewish women. This perspective allows me to meet clients where they are with sensitivity, respect, and insight.
Supporting Jewish women in their personal growth and emotional well-being is a true honor. I aim to create a space where clients feel understood, seen, and empowered to explore their experiences, navigate challenges, and embrace their strengths. Being able to combine professional expertise with personal understanding makes this work especially meaningful.
