The Parent Wound's Purpose or Mission
This is therapy that disrupts the system. This is Core Relationships.
The Parent Wound is designed for
Many adults carry the quiet and lasting impact of growing up with emotionally immature/incapable parents. While these experiences often shape how someone relates to themselves and others, the patterns can be difficult to name, understand, or change without support.
This group at Core Relationships is designed for individuals who want to explore and heal the lasting impact of our parents. Participants work to understand how these experiences continue to influence their emotional responses, relationships, and sense of self. The group focuses on building awareness, processing past experiences, and developing healthier relational patterns moving forward.
Participants who join The Parent Wound can expect
Process groups focused on relational healing offer a grounded, supportive space where you can slow down, explore your inner world, and make sense of long-standing patterns. The pace is steady and contained, with therapists offering clear guidance so you always feel oriented and supported. Nothing you share is “too much,” and every emotion is treated as meaningful and worth understanding. As group members show up consistently, the relationships in the room become a safe place to practice new ways of relating and to experience connection that feels steady and affirming. Over time, this creates a healing environment that helps you grow with more clarity, confidence, and emotional ease.
Jewish Community Experience
Bassy Schwartz, LMFT’s work within the Jewish community has been deeply meaningful and personally rewarding. Over the years, she has been involved in several areas of community life, especially around infertility, where she has helped raise awareness, develop thoughtful programming, and collaborate closely with the PUAH Cares Team on case management. She has also been active in advocating for Agunot, offering professional support and contributing to programs and awareness efforts through organizations such as ORA. Beyond these initiatives, Bassy has taken an active role in synagogue leadership by serving on boards and engaging in broader community conversations.
Bassy believes that our vibrant Jewish community holds incredible strengths, while also offering important opportunities for growth as we work through shared challenges. She finds great fulfillment in helping create spaces where honest analysis, open dialogue, and expanded services can take root. Her goal is to deepen support for individuals and families by encouraging more thoughtful, accessible, and responsive approaches. It is her hope that, through collaboration and continued reflection, our close-knit community can strengthen the resources available and foster lasting, positive change for everyone who is part of it.
