The Parent Wound's Purpose or Mission
At Core Relationships, the work we do together is about gently uncovering the emotional roots of the cycles that keep showing up in your life. These patterns often come from places you didn’t choose and from wounds that were created long before you had the tools to understand them. In our sessions, we slow things down so you can actually hear what is happening inside you and make sense of the reactions that feel automatic or overwhelming. This process is not about judgment. It is about understanding where these wounds come from and how they shaped the way you move through the world.
As you begin to recognize and heal these deeper layers, something shifts. You start to show up differently in your relationships, especially with your children. The goal is for you to experience relationships that feel safe, steady, and grounded, not just on the surface but in the ways that matter most. At Core Relationships, you are not just learning new skills. You are building a healthier, more compassionate way of relating to yourself and the people you love.
The Parent Wound is designed for
The Parent Wound is a transformative therapy group for adults who grew up with parents who could not fully show up, whether emotionally, physically, or both. Many people carry the imprint of those early experiences far into adulthood, even when they think they have moved past them. If you still feel the sting of those old patterns in your relationships, in the way you speak to yourself, or in how you respond to your parents today, you are not alone. This group offers a place to understand why those feelings show up and how they continue to shape the way you relate to others and to yourself.
In a supportive and thoughtfully guided space, you will learn how to break long-standing cycles and begin healing the attachment injuries that have followed you for years. Together, we work toward building the kind of internal security you may have never been given, but always deserved. The process is gentle, honest, and grounded in real connection with others who understand this experience. Join us to begin rewriting the story of how you live, love, and see yourself, starting from the inside out.
Participants who join The Parent Wound can expect
Participants who join us can expect a deeply supportive, no-judgment space where your story is met with real care and genuine presence. The group moves at a pace that respects your inner world, blending gentle exploration with clear guidance so you never feel lost or unsure about what comes next. Therapists stay closely attuned and offer insight that helps you understand patterns you have carried for years, including the ones that still show up in your relationships and reactions today. Nothing you bring is too much, and nothing is brushed aside. Every emotion is welcomed, validated, and given room to be understood.
As the work unfolds, you begin to see how these old wounds shaped the way you relate to yourself and the people around you. The group becomes a steady place to practice new ways of being, supported by others who understand this journey in a very real way. Over time, this creates a relational experience that feels corrective rather than painful, one that allows you to feel safe enough to grow. This is the kind of healing that moves you forward with clarity and strength. The group is designed to help you not just understand the parent wound but actually repair it from the inside out.
Jewish Community Experience
Bassy Schwartz, LMFT’s work within the Jewish community has been deeply meaningful and personally rewarding. Over the years, she has been involved in several areas of community life, especially around infertility, where she has helped raise awareness, develop thoughtful programming, and collaborate closely with the PUAH Cares Team on case management. She has also been active in advocating for Agunot, offering professional support and contributing to programs and awareness efforts through organizations such as ORA. Beyond these initiatives, Bassy has taken an active role in synagogue leadership by serving on boards and engaging in broader community conversations.
Bassy believes that our vibrant Jewish community holds incredible strengths, while also offering important opportunities for growth as we work through shared challenges. She finds great fulfillment in helping create spaces where honest analysis, open dialogue, and expanded services can take root. Her goal is to deepen support for individuals and families by encouraging more thoughtful, accessible, and responsive approaches. It is her hope that, through collaboration and continued reflection, our close-knit community can strengthen the resources available and foster lasting, positive change for everyone who is part of it.
