💙 Warm 💡 Solution-oriented 🙌 AffirmingWhy Nechama Woitovich, MSED, DIR-A chose to be in the helping profession
There is something truly magical about helping people connect with each other and discover more about themselves. I began my journey as a special educator, and through teaching and working with a variety of individuals, I came to realize that many struggles in school and life are deeply rooted in emotions. People need to feel safe, content, loved, and valued in the same way we need air. Parenting, in particular, can be incredibly challenging, and my goal is to help families bring joy back into their everyday lives.
When we connect through joy and attune to our children, we create a foundation that carries them through difficult moments, including the teenage years. I love watching my clients shift their perspectives, break cycles, and rediscover joy in the process. It is a privilege to witness these transformations, as each step toward understanding and connection opens the door to lasting growth and resilience. Helping families build these meaningful bonds is what drives my work every day.
Nechama Woitovich, MSED, DIR-A's approach
My approach to therapy is strength-based, focusing on each child’s abilities and potential. We use activities that are exciting and engaging, which helps children learn skills more deeply and more quickly. I empower parents to form meaningful, connected relationships with their children and teens because I believe parents are the most essential people in a child’s life. Children thrive when parents join them in play, and this connection becomes the foundation for growth in all areas of life.
Supporting clients between sessions is a core part of my method, helping families progress more efficiently. My goal is not to keep anyone in therapy long-term; I want parents and children to graduate with confidence and a deep understanding of the work we’ve done together. I take a holistic approach, looking at a child’s core emotional development and identifying what may be standing in the way of skills like regulation, problem solving, play, and social interactions. We focus on the root of challenges rather than just providing temporary fixes, ensuring that growth is lasting and meaningful.
What you can expect from sessions with Nechama Woitovich, MSED, DIR-A
During our sessions, you can expect compassion, understanding, and acceptance. I hold space for both you and your child, creating an environment where learning and growth feel safe and supported. We focus on activities tailored to your child’s interests, and I explain and model the skills we are building in practical ways so you can confidently use them at home. Much of our work is child-led play, which allows children to engage naturally while developing important skills.
Sessions are an hour long, with follow-up support built into my model to help families continue progress between meetings. I openly teach my methods—there is no gatekeeping—so you can use them on your own with confidence. We explore and honor sensory needs, ensuring we work with you and your child, not against them. I also collaborate closely with other professionals and your child’s school, and I am here to cheer you on, support your goals, and celebrate each success along the way.
Nechama Woitovich, MSED, DIR-A's experience working with the Jewish community
I began working with the Jewish community over 15 years ago, across a variety of religious settings. My early roles as a teacher, SEIT provider, and Early Interventionist gave me a deep understanding of how to balance the needs of the individual child with the demands of the larger system. These experiences continue to shape my work today, allowing me to equip clients with practical skills that carry over across multiple settings and everyday situations.
I have also served as a consultant in several Jewish schools, teaching educators how to foster social-emotional skills in their students. I work with clients from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds and am mindful of cultural differences and norms. It is a privilege to support families and educators in the community I care so deeply about, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
