Gitti Joseph, LSW, CBT-E's style
💙 Warm 💪 Challenging 🙏 Spiritual 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Gitti Joseph, LSW, CBT-E chose to be in the helping profession
Going through my own experiences with mental health inspired me to become the kind of therapist I wish I had when I was struggling. It showed me the gaps in care that existed then and, unfortunately, many of those gaps still exist today. My goal is to be a beacon of hope within the frum community by providing warm, discreet, and compassionate therapy in a space where clients feel safe, understood, and never judged. I believe healing begins with feeling truly seen, and I am committed to helping each person move beyond surviving, develop the tools they need to navigate life's challenges, and get back to living a full and meaningful life.
Gitti Joseph, LSW, CBT-E's approach
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and direct. I believe that understanding your past can provide valuable insight into the challenges you are facing today, and together we will explore those experiences in a way that promotes healing rather than keeping you stuck. At the same time, our work will focus on developing healthy, practical coping skills that you can use both during our sessions and in your everyday life. My goal is to help you build lasting tools that support meaningful change long after you leave the therapy room.
I also believe that growth happens between sessions, not just during them. To help reinforce what we discuss, I may encourage you to practice new skills or complete activities throughout the week so that therapy becomes an ongoing process rather than a once-a-week conversation. Every client begins with a comprehensive assessment, and we revisit your progress regularly to make sure your treatment continues to meet your needs. If at any point I believe a different therapeutic approach or a higher level of care would better support your goals, we will discuss those recommendations together with openness and care.
What you can expect from sessions with Gitti Joseph, LSW, CBT-E
I strive to provide engaging, informative sessions that are tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we will explore your emotions, thought patterns, and experiences to better understand what may be contributing to your current struggles. My approach is collaborative because I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help guide, support, and challenge you along the way. Through our work together, we will identify meaningful goals, develop practical coping skills, and begin rewiring unhelpful patterns so you can live a more fulfilling, balanced, and engaged life.
I also believe that lasting change happens both in and outside of the therapy room. As we build on the progress you make in session, you'll gain tools and strategies that can be applied to everyday situations, helping you move forward with greater confidence and resilience. For clients struggling with an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body image concerns, treatment is centered on developing a healthier, more secure relationship with food, your body, and yourself. My hope is to help you feel empowered, find healing, and get back to what matters most, with nothing but simchos ahead.
Gitti Joseph, LSW, CBT-E's experience working with the Jewish community
I have worked within the Jewish community for several years, with a particular focus on supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders in the frum community. My work includes providing individual therapy, meal support, and advocating for clients when gaps in understanding of Jewish customs and practices arise within secular treatment settings. I understand the unique challenges that can come from navigating recovery while balancing religious values, community expectations, and clinical needs, and I strive to ensure that each client receives care that is both culturally sensitive and clinically sound.
Throughout my work, I have collaborated closely with Rabbeim to help clients and their treatment teams determine the most appropriate course of action while honoring both halacha and evidence-based clinical guidelines. I am passionate about bridging the gap between the mental health field and the Orthodox Jewish community, helping professionals better understand the unique considerations involved in treating frum clients. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented at conferences and professional trainings on eating disorder treatment within the Orthodox Jewish population, with the goal of increasing awareness, expanding culturally competent care, and improving outcomes for those seeking support.
