😃 Humorous 💪 Challenging 🥇 Empowering 🔥 EnergeticWhy Brigid Judge chose to be in the helping profession
Before I found yoga and Pilates, I often felt stuck. Stuck in unfulfilling routines, stuck in a job that drained me, and stuck in patterns that left me feeling helpless and dull. Discovering mindful movement changed everything. Over the past decade of practice and more than half a decade of teaching, I’ve transformed my daily life in ways that bring me joy, balance, and a deep sense of satisfaction.
Movement has always been a part of who I am. I grew up as a dancer, hockey player, and runner, so I naturally had a connection to the physical body. But it wasn’t until I began integrating the breath and learning to calm my mind through yoga and Pilates that my approach to fitness shifted. I became less reactive and more intentional, cultivating both confidence and mental strength. That shift gave me the belief that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to, both on the mat and beyond.
Brigid Judge's approach
I have the privilege of working with over 200 students every week, in many different settings. Some join me in the studio, others in corporate offices, private homes, or on Zoom. Each person walks in carrying something unique—past or present injuries, stiffness, the desire to expand their range of motion, or simply the hope of gaining strength and flexibility. No two bodies or days are the same, and I see it as my role to meet each student exactly where they are.
We always begin with the basics. I encourage my students to check in with themselves: How is your body today? Where is your edge? How has your day been so far? From there, we move forward step by step. Small shifts eventually become big strides. My teaching blends yoga and Pilates in a way that is both mindful and practical, guiding students through slow and steady movement that deepens awareness of the action being taken. Over time, this approach builds not only strength, flexibility, and mobility but also confidence and trust in one’s own body.
What you can expect from sessions with Brigid Judge
Before we begin, I like to start with a brief consultation to get to know you better. This includes understanding your goals, any injuries you may be working through, and even big life events that may be impacting your body and mind. This helps me tailor each session so it feels supportive and aligned with what you need in that moment.
Our sessions typically range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your schedule and preferences. We usually begin with a gentle warm-up to awaken the body, then gradually move into deeper, more intentional movement. Each session is designed to meet you where you are and to help you build strength, awareness, and resilience over time.
When we practice in person, I often close with an essential oils shoulder and head massage to leave you feeling grounded and restored. If we are on Zoom, we’ll end with a mindful wind-down that may include deep stretching and breathwork to help you settle and carry that calm with you into the rest of your day.
Brigid Judge's experience working with the Jewish community
For the past year, I’ve been working closely with the Jewish community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I lead several small and medium-sized groups one to two times per week, creating a consistent space for movement, strength, and connection. Most of the women I work with enjoy a blend of Pilates and yoga, which allows them to experience the best of both worlds—building strength and stability while also finding calm, balance, and release.
This work has grown in a very organic way. Word of mouth spreads quickly in the community, and my name is often passed along from one group of friends to another. Because of this, my schedule tends to fill up quickly, and I feel honored to be trusted and welcomed into such a meaningful part of people’s weekly routines. It’s a joy to see these groups not only strengthen their bodies, but also grow in confidence and connection through our time together.
