Why Binah Malka Stinnett-Bloemhof chose to be in the helping profession

I chose the helping profession because I truly believe that being heard is one of the most important things when it comes to addressing mental health issues. With that said, I believe it is helpful to have someone we can relate to and feel can truly understand our lived experiences when setting out to address whatever challenges we face. Feeling understood and having a safe space to talk openly can make a meaningful difference in the process of growth and healing. I hope to be a Psychotherapist that clients can relate to, feel safe with, and trust as they work through the challenges they are facing.

I believe that the relationship between a client and therapist is an important part of that process. My hope is to create a space where clients feel comfortable being honest about their experiences, knowing they do not have to navigate everything on their own. I want clients to feel heard and understood while also having the support they need to grow in ways that feel meaningful to them. Ultimately, I hope to be someone clients can feel safe with as they work toward a greater understanding of themselves and the changes they want to make.

Binah Malka Stinnett-Bloemhof's approach

I look forward to working with individuals dealing with anxiety, life transitions, identity development, maternal mental health, relationship concerns, and the ways culture, race, faith, and lived experiences influence emotional well-being. Each person brings their own experiences, values, and understanding of the world into the therapy space, and I believe those things deserve to be acknowledged and respected. I am committed to providing culturally responsive, affirming care that honors each client’s unique experiences, values, and identity. My goal is to meet clients where they are and support them in addressing the concerns that are most meaningful to them.

I recognize that mental health and emotional well-being can be influenced by many different parts of our lives, including our relationships, identities, culture, faith, and the experiences that have shaped us. Because of this, I strive to approach each client with openness and curiosity rather than making assumptions about their experiences. I want clients to feel that they can bring their whole selves into the therapy space and know that those parts of who they are will be respected. Together, we can explore the challenges they are facing while creating space for growth, understanding, and meaningful change.

What you can expect from sessions with Binah Malka Stinnett-Bloemhof

Whether a client is navigating anxiety, adjusting to a life transition, exploring identity, strengthening relationships, or simply looking for a supportive place to process life’s challenges, during my sessions I strive to create an environment where clients feel empowered, understood, and equipped to make lasting, meaningful change. I believe therapy can provide a space to slow down, process what we are experiencing, and gain a better understanding of ourselves and the challenges we face. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling heard and supported while also having the tools and perspective they need to continue moving forward. I want the therapeutic space to feel collaborative, supportive, and grounded in each client’s individual needs and goals.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when we are sharing parts of our lives that may be difficult to talk about. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe enough to be themselves and empowered to explore what is happening in their lives without judgment. Whether someone is working through a specific concern or simply needs a supportive place to process, I hope to help clients feel understood and equipped to make lasting, meaningful change. I am clinically supervised by Mavis Smith, LCSW.

Self-pay: $250 for the initial biopsychosocial assessment and $100 thereafter.

Binah Malka Stinnett-Bloemhof's experience working with the Jewish community

I've been a member of the Jewish community since I was 18 years old. Throughout that time, I have had various experiences within many different Jewish communities in both the U.S. and Israel, which have given me a meaningful understanding of the different ways people experience and connect to Jewish life and community. These experiences have shaped my desire to support those across the Jewish community who are in need of relatable mental health support. I understand the importance of being able to work with someone who can relate to and appreciate the communities and experiences that are meaningful to you.

Because of my experiences within different Jewish communities, I am happy to support individuals across the Jewish community as they navigate their mental health and emotional well-being. I believe that having someone who understands aspects of your lived experience can help create a sense of comfort, safety, and connection within the therapeutic relationship. My hope is to provide a space where Jewish clients feel understood and can bring their experiences, values, and identities into the conversation. I am grateful for the opportunity to offer relatable mental health support to members of the Jewish community in the U.S., Israel, and beyond.
