Why Rabbi Raffi Bilek, LCSW, Relationship Coach chose to be in the helping profession

I actually did not start out in the helping profession. I was a computer programmer in college, and for a while I thought that was the path I was meant to be on. It took some time to realize that I enjoy talking to people far more than working with machines. Once that became clear, the shift felt natural, even necessary. Looking back, it makes sense that I would be drawn to work that centers on human connection.

I am much happier with my day-to-day work now, and the reason feels simple. We know that relationships are the most critical factor in a person’s overall happiness, something reflected in decades of research, including the Grant Study, the longest-running longitudinal study ever conducted. That insight guides how I think about my work and why it matters to me. I feel grateful to be in a position where I can contribute to improving, repairing, and sometimes even saving people’s relationships. Helping people strengthen the connections that shape their lives is work I find deeply meaningful.

Rabbi Raffi Bilek, LCSW, Relationship Coach's approach

You are looking for a better marriage, closer family relationships, a full a meaningful life.

I am looking to help you get there.

I see my job as making myself obsolete as quickly as possible. I want you not to become dependent on me, but rather to feel confident in your ability to navigate life and relationships independently. At the same time, I remain available when difficult situations arise and extra support is needed.

I will help you develop the tools, insight, and self-trust you need to create the kind of relationships you want. Whether that means an amazing marriage, a closer relationship with a parent or child, or a more connected experience with yourself, the focus is on lasting change. The work is about strengthening your capacity, not creating reliance. Ultimately, success looks like you feeling grounded, capable, and connected long after our work together has ended.

What you can expect from sessions with Rabbi Raffi Bilek, LCSW, Relationship Coach

We will take a clear, honest look at the issues you are facing, whether you are coming in on your own or alongside a spouse or family member. Together, we will identify the negative patterns that have been limiting your relationships and keeping them from being what you want them to be. The work is collaborative and practical, grounded in understanding what is actually happening and why. From there, we focus on creating meaningful change rather than temporary fixes.

The goal is to give you the tools and skills you need to build strong, satisfying relationships and to maintain them long term. I want your relationships to feel solid, connected, and genuinely enjoyable, not dependent on ongoing professional support. This work is about helping you create something sustainable. Ideally, you leave with confidence in your ability to keep your relationships healthy without needing a coach or therapist forever.

Rabbi Raffi Bilek, LCSW, Relationship Coach's experience working with the Jewish community

I live and work in the frum community in Baltimore, and before that I worked at Jewish Family Services in Passaic. Being embedded in these communities has given me a deep understanding of the values, pressures, and realities that shape people’s lives and relationships. At the same time, my professional experience spans a wide range of backgrounds and family structures. That combination allows me to approach each person and couple with both cultural sensitivity and a broad perspective.

I have worked with many frum individuals and couples, as well as with nonreligious Jews and non-Jews. Through this work, I have developed a wide framework for understanding the challenges couples and families face, regardless of background. While every relationship is unique, many struggles follow familiar patterns. My role is to meet you where you are and help you navigate those challenges in a way that fits your values, your life, and your relationships.
