Why Moshe Abudarham chose to be in the helping profession

Most men who come to me are carrying invisible burdens: shame, addiction, emotional instability, feeling lost in their relationships, feeling disconnected from their kids, or struggling to trust themselves. I understand this deeply because I have lived it. These are the kinds of internal struggles that do not always show on the outside, but they shape everything on the inside. My work is grounded in meeting men in that exact place, with honesty and without judgment.

I grew up in a highly structured religious environment in Europe, carrying early life wounds I did not yet have language for. Over time, I struggled for years with porn, sex, and drug addictions while trying to make sense of myself and stay afloat. In my 20s, I became a single dad in Jerusalem, doing my best to hold things together on my own while feeling like I was failing. From the outside I may have looked functional, but inside I was often hiding, pretending I was fine while I was eroding internally.

At a certain point, I stopped running and started facing what I had been avoiding. I worked through my struggles and eventually overcame them, step by step, rebuilding a sense of stability and direction. Today I live in greater alignment, using practical tools that help me return to my true self when challenges come up. I have rebuilt my integrity, my faith, my family, and my life here in the United States.

I am not perfect. I am honest. I know what it feels like to fall, and I know what it takes to climb back up and stay up.

Moshe Abudarham's approach

The SURREAL Method is a grounded, structured framework that helps you rebuild alignment from the inside out. It is designed to take what feels chaotic, overwhelming, or fragmented and turn it into something you can actually work with in a practical way. The focus is not theory, but lived change that shows up in how you think, act, and relate to yourself and others. Each step builds on the last, creating a path back to stability, clarity, and integrity.

Safety: creating a grounded foundation so you can actually face yourself without collapsing or shutting down.
Understanding: exploring your story and uncovering the root of your patterns, not just the symptoms.
Reality: separating who you are today from who you were shaped to be in the past.
Reliability: rebuilding self-trust through discipline, consistency, and aligned action.
Expression: learning to communicate your truth without shame, rage, or emotional collapse.
Alignment: becoming the man whose actions reflect his values, not just his intentions.

The word SURREAL is intentional, because for many people this process can feel almost unbelievable at first. How did I get here, and how does my life look like this? But it is not a dream state or an illusion. It is the result of doing the work consistently over time. The point is not to escape reality, but to finally be able to stand fully inside it and shape it with clarity and responsibility.

What you can expect from sessions with Moshe Abudarham

My approach blends masculine leadership with spiritual work. I help men uncover the real causes behind addiction, emotional instability, and misalignment, rather than only managing what shows up on the surface. The focus is not on quick fixes or symptom control, but on understanding what is actually driving the patterns underneath. From there, real change becomes possible in a grounded and sustainable way.

Through a structured three-month container, we move through a clear pathway. First, you learn how to meet yourself safely, without judgment or collapse. From there, we work on understanding your story, separating what belongs to your past from what is true in the present, and rebuilding a reliable sense of self-trust. As the process deepens, you begin to clarify your values and learn how to lead your life from a place of alignment and responsibility, rather than reactivity.

Over time, you develop greater emotional stability and a more regulated nervous system, so you are not constantly pulled by old patterns or internal chaos. Decision-making becomes clearer and more grounded, coming from your core self instead of fear, impulse, or survival responses. The goal is not to become someone else, but to become steady enough in yourself that you can actually live in alignment with who you already are.

Moshe Abudarham's experience working with the Jewish community

Many men are not given the tools to truly succeed in their inner and relational lives. Very few of us are modeled healthy emotional regulation, communication, or what it actually looks like to lead a relationship or a family in a grounded way. Depending on our background and upbringing, this can leave men with gaps in self-awareness and practical skills, which often leads to confusion, disconnection, and at times turning toward unhealthy coping mechanisms. It is not a lack of effort, but often a lack of proper modeling and support. In many Jewish communities, there is also a strong sense of expectation, identity, and responsibility, which can add pressure when someone is quietly struggling underneath.

At the same time, many men are carrying internal experiences that are not always visible or openly discussed. This can create a gap between how life looks on the outside and what is actually happening inside. Over time, that gap can lead to avoidance, isolation, and emotional strain that is rarely addressed directly. My work in this space is about creating a grounded and honest place to look at what is actually happening beneath the surface, so men can develop the tools to understand themselves more clearly and show up in their lives with more stability, clarity, and integrity.
