Why Moshe Abudarham chose to be in the helping profession

Most men who come to me are carrying invisible burdens of shame, addiction, emotional instability, feeling lost in their relationships, feeling disconnected from their kids, or struggling to trust themselves. I understand this deeply because I have lived it. These are the kinds of internal struggles that do not always show on the outside, but they shape everything on the inside. My work is grounded in meeting men in that exact place, with honesty and without judgment.

I grew up in a highly structured religious environment in Europe, carrying early life wounds I did not yet have language for. For years, I struggled with porn, sex, and drug addictions while trying to hold my life together. In my twenties, I became a single father in Jerusalem, doing my best and yet feeling like I was failing, all the while hiding the truth from everyone around me while I was eroding internally.

When I learned what was actually driving my patterns-- the nervous system responses and unresolved pain underneath them-- I was able to begin transforming my entire life. I am happily married, grounded, and the CEO of a tech company.

I offer honest, lived experience, and a path I’ve walked myself.

Moshe Abudarham's approach

Core to my work is that addiction is a symptom, not the cause.

In order to help you return to yourself, I use a blend of strategies including (but not limited to):
Schwartz's internal family systems work
Porges' polyvagal theory
Shearer's 'shiney object' approach
Mate's addiction as a trauma response
Katehackis' Psycho-biological approch to sex addiction treatment (PSAT)
MBSR

What you can expect from sessions with Moshe Abudarham

This is personal, structured work created a clear path for transformation over three months.

In the first month, we stabilize. This is about radical honesty with yourself. It's acknowledging your patterns, behaviors, and what's happening in your internal dialogue. We map your patterns, your triggers, and your nervous system responses. We build foundational practices around sleep, movement, nutrition, and solitude. The goal is to create enough internal safety that the deeper work becomes possible.

In the second month, we go to the root. Every compulsive behavior sits on top of another layer. We trace yours back through the coping mechanisms, the belief systems, and the origin story underneath them. This is where shame starts to lose its grip, because you begin to understand why you do what you do instead of just hating yourself for it.
In the third month, we rebuild. Self-trust through aligned habits. Honest emotional expression. Clarity about your values and how to live by them. If you’re in a relationship, this is where we address polarity and relational leadership, how to lead without controlling, how to hold space without collapsing.

Throughout the process, you develop greater emotional regulation and a calmer nervous system. Decisions start coming from your core self instead of from fear, impulse, or survival patterns. The goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to become steady enough in yourself that your actions actually reflect who you are.

Moshe Abudarham's experience working with the Jewish community

In many Jewish communities, there’s a strong culture of responsibility, family obligation, and high expectations. That can be a source of strength, but it can also mean that when a man is struggling internally with addiction, there’s enormous pressure to keep it hidden.

I grew up inside this dynamic. I understand the weight of communal expectation and the silence around certain struggles.

My work creates a space where a man can be fully honest about what’s happening without worrying about judgment or being misunderstood-- all in a frum environment.
