Why Rabbi Johnny Solomon chose to be in the helping profession

Being a Rabbi means being deeply committed to teaching Torah and helping Jewish men and women grow in their observance of the mitzvot. It also means approaching people with a compassionate heart and a sensitive spirit, ready to offer pastoral care to those seeking guidance through life’s challenges. I see the role of a Rabbi as both teacher and companion, someone who walks alongside others as they search for clarity, strength, and meaning. My work is rooted in the belief that Torah has the power to speak to every part of a person’s life when it is shared with warmth and understanding.

As the #theVirtualRabbi, I strive to blend these two roles by offering Torah insights that are authentic, thoughtful, and emotionally aware. In my spiritual coaching sessions, I create a space where clients can explore their questions openly and honestly, without fear of judgment. Together we look at the decisions and struggles they are facing and seek guidance from Torah teachings that touch the heart and soul. My goal is to help each person find resolution where possible, and where certainty is not attainable, to learn how to live with their doubts in a way that still allows for growth, faith, and a meaningful connection to Jewish life.

Rabbi Johnny Solomon's approach

I provide online, text-based spiritual coaching that is confidential, non-judgmental, and open to men, women, and couples. My work is online because I serve as a Rabbi for those who may not have a Rabbi of their own, connecting with clients from all over the world. It is text-based because a central part of my approach is learning and sharing Torah teachings in a way that helps clients feel informed, empowered, and supported in their decision-making.

Confidentiality is essential because many of the topics my clients bring to our sessions are personal and sensitive. My approach is non-judgmental, rooted in the belief that my role is to support, guide, and encourage without criticism. Through this work, I aim to create a safe space where clients can explore their questions, reflect on their choices, and draw strength from Torah insights that speak to both the heart and the soul.

What you can expect from sessions with Rabbi Johnny Solomon

You can expect to be taken seriously and to be met with genuine care and respect. You can expect a gentle, comforting, non-judgmental ear that is truly ready to listen to what is on your heart. You can expect to hear wise, relevant, and resonant Torah wisdom that speaks directly to you and to the situation you are facing. My intention is always to respond with sensitivity and thoughtfulness, so that you feel understood rather than analyzed.

Many of my clients have shared how our conversations helped them reconsider and reframe their struggles in a healthier and more hopeful way. They have discovered new perspectives that allowed them to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Above all, you can expect to leave your session with greater menuchat hanefesh, a deeper sense of peace of mind and stillness of soul. My hope is that you come away feeling lighter, steadier, and more connected to your inner strength and to Torah.

Rabbi Johnny Solomon's experience working with the Jewish community

I am a husband and a father of five daughters, living an Orthodox Jewish life within a vibrant and engaged community. Over the years, I have had the privilege of living in many Jewish communities, serving in a variety of roles including youth leader, educator, and community Rabbi. I have also been deeply involved in numerous Jewish non-profits, volunteering my time to support causes that strengthen and uplift our community. My connection to the Jewish world is both personal and professional, and I take joy in celebrating its many strengths.

At the same time, I am very aware of the areas where our community can fall short, where people may feel overlooked or let down. My experiences have given me a unique perspective on both the triumphs and the challenges within Jewish life. This awareness informs my work, helping me approach each person with sensitivity and understanding, and enabling me to provide guidance that is both realistic and grounded in the values of our tradition. I am committed to fostering connection, support, and meaningful growth wherever I can.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • I reached out to Rabbi Johnny as I was looking for specific guidance in a very personal sensitive halachic area. I was not only blown away by his rabbinical competence but I was overwhelmed by his humanity. Rabbi Johnny has such a unique and special way of helping people with complex contemporary halachic and personal issues. I’m so appreciative to have Rabbi Johnny in my life.

  • Rav Johnny, I can never thank you enough. In what was probably just a part of a regular day for you you tackled over 20 years of trauma, harmful advice given by well-meaning rabbanim and educators who simply lacked a nuanced understanding of mental health, and accumulated resentment, frustration, and helplessness. I am not articulate enough to put the shift in my mindset into words or properly express how your empathy and guidance impacted me, but I genuinely believe our conversation was a turning point in changing my life for the better in so many ways

  • Rabbi Solomon was recommended to me as someone who would be “perfect” for giving spiritual guidance that was nuanced and thoughtful to help me through a big issue in my life, and must say this recommendation was spot on. I have never spoken with a rabbi so empathetic, thorough, and serious about preparing ahead of time. I was impressed by his ability to access and communicate wisdom that was truly deep, rooted in Torah, humane, and real. I didn’t ever feel I was being given pat answers, offered generic advice, or pushed towards a halachic or philosophical corner that is not appropriate for me. If you are, like me, searching for someone who provides guidance that is at once thoughtful, soulful, and intellectual; generosity with his time and spirit; a true ability to listen, balance, and be thorough; and good humor and kindness along the way - he is it

  • Rabbi Johnny Solomon has integrity, is a hard-worker, responsible, sensitive, excellent team player and people skills.
