Why Moussia Zaklikovsky chose to be in the helping profession

Throughout my upbringing, I interacted with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds through the Chabad center my parents run. From a young age, I had the opportunity to assist with social services and build meaningful relationships with all types of people. These experiences taught me the importance of meeting each person with openness, compassion, and respect for their unique story. They also helped me recognize how powerful it can be to feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported.

I have remained passionate about outreach, social services, and mental health, which ultimately led me to pursue this career path. I value the opportunity to build meaningful connections with my clients and create a space where they can feel comfortable being themselves. I approach therapy as a partnership, working alongside each client as they navigate challenges, better understand themselves, and identify what they want for their lives. Together, we can work toward creating a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and truly worth living.

Moussia Zaklikovsky's approach

Past experiences can continue to affect how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others, and how safe we feel in the world. I work with adults who are dealing with the lasting effects of trauma and want support in understanding what they have been through. Trauma can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Therapy offers a space to make sense of these experiences without judgment and begin moving toward healing at a pace that feels manageable.

I specialize in trauma-focused therapy and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based method that helps the brain process difficult memories so they feel less overwhelming. Together, we work to reduce distress, gain clarity, and understand how past experiences may still be affecting your life today. My approach is collaborative, warm, and structured, with space for both support and practical direction. My goal is to help you feel safer within yourself, move forward with greater confidence, and create meaningful change in your life.

What you can expect from sessions with Moussia Zaklikovsky

If you have been carrying a lot on your own, therapy can offer a space for support, understanding, and healing. You do not have to continue facing difficult memories or overwhelming emotions by yourself. Through trauma-informed therapy and EMDR, we will work together to process painful experiences and reduce the suffering they may still be causing. This work can help you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself.

Therapy is not about erasing pain or pretending that difficult experiences never happened. It is about building resilience, deepening understanding, and creating a life that feels purposeful even in the presence of difficulty. In EMDR therapy, we can help the nervous system process and integrate trauma so that the past feels less overwhelming in the present. Healing is possible, and together we can work toward greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of safety within yourself.

Moussia Zaklikovsky's experience working with the Jewish community

I grew up in an open and welcoming home where social services and Jewish outreach were a meaningful part of everyday life. Through the Chabad Community Center my family runs, I had the opportunity to become involved in giving back to our Jewish community from a young age. Our home welcomed Jews from all backgrounds, giving me the chance to connect with many different people and hear their stories. These experiences shaped the way I understand community, connection, and the importance of making others feel accepted.

I have always enjoyed meeting Jews from all walks of life and learning from the different experiences they bring. Growing up in this environment deepened my love and respect for the beautiful Jewish community we are privileged to be part of. It also taught me to approach each person with warmth, openness, and genuine curiosity. I carry these values into my work and feel grateful for every opportunity to support and connect with members of our community.
