Ari Hoffman, MA, LPC's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 🐣 Out of the boxWhy Ari Hoffman, MA, LPC chose to be in the helping profession
Being a human is beautiful, challenging, imperfect, and fascinating. I realized that acutely as a young adult, and that awareness stayed with me in a lasting way. Because of that, I chose a path in couples and family therapy so that I, in my humanity, could walk with and support others on their journeys of relationships and fulfillment. I have always felt drawn to sitting with people in the middle of what feels complex or uncertain, and helping them feel less alone in it.
I am endlessly filled with wonder by humans and what makes us do what we do, whether it feels healthy or otherwise. That curiosity has shaped both my personal and professional life, and I have oriented myself toward deepening my understanding of human behavior and emotional experience. I pay close attention to the patterns, struggles, and also the resilience that shows up in relationships and in individual lives. My intention is to use that understanding to help people have a more meaningful, connected, and ultimately more fulfilling experience on the journey of life.
Ari Hoffman, MA, LPC's approach
With training and experience in many different approaches to therapy, I offer an integrated and grounded approach to couples and family counseling. My work draws on humor, directness, nurturing, and appropriately challenging support, along with creative somatic exercises that help bring awareness into the body as well as the mind. I aim to meet each person and relationship where they are, while also helping gently stretch toward something more connected and more intentional. Together, these elements create a holistic experience of personal and relational growth.
Therapy with me tends to be active, honest, and engaging, and it often brings both lightness and depth into the same space. Clients often describe it as fun in moments, challenging in others, and opening for both body and mind in ways that feel meaningful over time. I hold space for real work while also keeping things human, grounded, and relatable. As one of my colleagues once said, “If you want to do real work, go see Ari.”

Ari Hoffman, MA, LPC's experience working with the Jewish community
On a personal level, I’ve been religious all my life, and over time I’ve had the privilege of walking different paths within that world, sometimes at the same time, including yeshivish, Chassidish, and Modern Orthodox life. These experiences have given me a broad and lived understanding of religious identity, community, and the many ways people navigate faith in real life. On a professional level, I’ve worked with Jews across the full spectrum of affiliation and observance since the beginning of my career 18 years ago until today, meeting people where they are and respecting the uniqueness of each individual and family’s journey.
