🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 💡 Solution-orientedWhy Alison Printz, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
I chose to be in the helping profession because I find deep fulfillment in seeing people make meaningful changes that positively impact their lives. There’s something incredibly rewarding about being part of someone’s journey as they work through their challenges, whether they’re navigating a major life transition or simply trying to manage the stress of everyday life. I want to be someone who can walk alongside them in those moments - not to tell them what to do, but to help them uncover their own strength, resilience, and clarity.
Being able to support someone through a tough season, offer a listening ear, or help them shift their perspective just enough to find hope again - that’s what inspires me. It’s not about having all the answers but about being present, being consistent, and believing in people even when they’re struggling to believe in themselves. That’s why I’m here and why this work means so much to me.
Alison Printz, LCSW's approach
My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, and grounded in honesty. I strive to create a space where my clients feel genuinely supported while also feeling gently challenged to move toward the changes they want to make in their lives. I see myself not just as someone who listens but as someone who actively helps facilitate growth and transformation.
My work is rooted in a holistic approach, drawing from both psychodynamic therapy and evidence-based practices. I use evidence-based techniques to offer clients practical tools they can apply in the present moment, especially when they’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck. At the same time, I incorporate psychodynamic work to help explore and process past experiences that may be shaping their current patterns, thoughts, or relationships. This balanced approach allows me to meet clients where they are, supporting both immediate needs and long-term healing.
What you can expect from sessions with Alison Printz, LCSW
You can expect our sessions to be a collaborative and supportive space where we explore what’s going on in your life right now while also gently uncovering how your past experiences may be shaping your present. We’ll talk through the challenges you’re facing, reflect on patterns that may be holding you back, and work on building coping tools that feel right for you. My approach is not one-size-fits-all — I’ll meet you exactly where you are, with compassion and honesty, and together, we’ll set meaningful goals that align with your values and hopes for the future.
Our time together is meant to be a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and start to make sense of things in a new way. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just looking for deeper self-understanding, my hope is that you’ll leave each session feeling a bit more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself.
Alison Printz, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
I grew up in a Conservative Jewish community, attended day school, spent a few formative months in high school studying in Israel, was active in Hillel during college, and served as a student leader of the Jewish caucus in graduate school. Being part of the Jewish community is deeply woven into who I am — it's not just a background; it's a lived experience that continues to shape me. It’s where I find comfort, connection, and a strong sense of purpose.
I feel honored to work with members of the Jewish community, especially at a time when support, understanding, and culturally attuned care are so needed. Whether clients are navigating identity, family dynamics, intergenerational trauma, or simply seeking someone who “gets it,” I bring both professional experience and personal insight to our work together.
