Why Sara Freed chose to be in the helping profession

I didn’t become a marriage coach because everything in my life went smoothly. I became one because I lived through real challenges and came out the other side stronger, wiser, and deeply passionate about helping others find their way, too.

As someone who has experienced the pain of divorce, the complexities of remarriage, and the nuanced work of blending families within the Orthodox Jewish community, I understand what it’s like to feel lost, overwhelmed, or stuck in a marriage that isn’t working.

I also know what it takes to rebuild something meaningful and beautiful from that very place. This lived experience, combined with my professional training, allows me to guide couples with both empathy and clarity. I’ve been there. I get it. And I know how to help.

Sara Freed's approach

Clients often tell me, “You’re so easy to talk to.” That’s because I don’t just listen—I truly get people. I hear what you're saying, even when it's hard to put into words, and I pick up on the things that aren't being said out loud. I create a space where you can be real, without fear of being judged or misunderstood.

I'm quick to tune into what’s really happening beneath the surface. Whether it’s unspoken hurt, fear, or long-standing patterns that keep showing up, I help you make sense of what feels overwhelming or confusing. My approach combines deep emotional insight with practical, proven tools that actually work in the real world.

I’m trained in Imago Therapy and the Gottman Method—both of which are grounded in research and designed to help couples move beyond blame, defensiveness, and disconnect. These methods support couples in rebuilding trust, communication, and emotional intimacy. But while the tools are essential, I believe that what I bring most to the table is clarity.

I help you cut through the noise and see what’s really keeping you stuck—and exactly what steps will move you forward. This isn’t one-size-fits-all coaching. Every couple is different, with their own story, rhythm, and pain points. I meet you exactly where you are, and we work from there.

Whether you’re fighting constantly, living like roommates, barely speaking, or just feeling alone in your own home, I’ll help you find your way back to connection—without judgment, without pressure, and without wasting time.

What you can expect from sessions with Sara Freed

If you’ve tried other things and nothing worked—or if you're quietly wondering, “Is there even a way forward?”—you’re in the right place. Many of the couples I work with walk in feeling like all hope is lost. They’re drained, disconnected, and stuck in the same painful cycles. Sometimes, one partner is already emotionally (or physically) halfway out the door.

And then, something shifts. Together, we unpack what’s really going on. Not just the surface arguments, but the deeper emotional patterns and unmet needs that keep triggering the same conflicts. You’ll feel seen, heard, and understood—sometimes for the first time in years. That alone can begin to melt the walls.

As we work together, you’ll start noticing real change. Tangible, practical shifts that make your marriage feel safer, more respectful, and more connected. It won’t feel like a guessing game anymore. You’ll have clarity, direction, and tools that actually work.

Our sessions are warm, focused, and collaborative. I’m not just here to nod and smile—I’m here to help you move forward. I’ll offer guidance, honest reflections, and strategies you can use right away. And I’ll support you in building the kind of relationship you truly want to be in.

Sara Freed's experience working with the Jewish community

Being part of the Orthodox Jewish world means I deeply understand the pressures, expectations, and values that shape our relationships, from shidduchim to marriage, to divorce and remarriage, and everything in between. These aren’t just concepts I’ve studied. They’re realities I’ve lived and navigated, personally and professionally.

I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across the spectrum: yeshivish, Modern Orthodox, newly married couples, those navigating remarriage, and individuals at every stage in between. I know the language. I understand the sensitivities. And I know how to support you through your challenges in a way that honors halacha, protects your dignity, and respects your lifestyle.

This isn’t therapy, where you have to explain your background. This is coaching from someone who lives it, who understands the nuance of frum life and brings both Torah-aligned values and practical, real-world guidance to the table.

If you’re tired of fighting the same battles, feeling alone in your marriage, or wondering if it’s even fixable, I want you to know there is a way back. You don’t have to do this alone. I offer a free 30-minute consultation. Let's talk.
