Why Trauma-Informed Prenatal Group chose to be in the helping profession
The purpose of this group is to provide both emotional and practical support for women who are pregnant. Pregnancy can bring up a wide range of fears, uncertainties, and even old emotional wounds or past traumas. In the group, participants are invited to explore these emotions and triggers through the lens of the inner child, fostering opportunities for healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Being part of a supportive group setting allows members to feel less alone and to recognize that their thoughts and feelings are a normal part of this journey. It also creates a space to learn from the experiences of others, offering perspective, validation, and connection. By giving yourself the time and space to process and heal now, you can create a smoother, more grounded transition into childbirth and deepen your connection with your baby.
Trauma-Informed Prenatal Group's approach
This 6-week group series is designed for women at any stage of pregnancy, whether it’s your first time or you’ve experienced pregnancy before. It offers a supportive space for those seeking emotional guidance in processing the experience of pregnancy and birth, and an opportunity to explore who you are on a deeper level before welcoming your baby.
The group is especially helpful for women who have navigated complicated fertility journeys or who carry a history of trauma or mental health challenges that may feel heightened during pregnancy. It provides a safe, understanding environment to explore these dynamics, reflect on how they affect you, and begin to nurture healing and self-awareness in preparation for childbirth.
What you can expect from sessions with Trauma-Informed Prenatal Group
The group combines emotional support with expressive therapies to create a holistic space for growth and healing. Sessions include mindfulness practices, journaling, art, and somatic awareness, along with thoughtful discussions on topics relevant to pregnancy, birth, and self-care. By approaching these experiences through an inner child lens, participants are encouraged to reparent themselves and address past wounds, fostering healing in preparation for welcoming a baby.
In addition to emotional exploration, there is dedicated time to make practical plans for birth and the postpartum period. This helps support your overall wellbeing and provides tools to manage potential triggers or challenges that may arise due to your personal history. The combination of reflective practices, creative expression, and practical planning creates a supportive environment where participants can feel grounded, empowered, and prepared for this next chapter.
Trauma-Informed Prenatal Group's experience working with the Jewish community
Growing up in an Orthodox Jewish community gave me firsthand insight into the unique challenges and complexities that can arise within these environments. I understand the nuances, struggles, and strengths often present in Jewish communities, and I bring this awareness into my clinical work. Over the years, I have supported clients across the full spectrum—from those who are not religious, to those who are deeply observant, and everyone in between. This broad experience allows me to approach each person with cultural sensitivity while honoring that every individual’s story is unique.
I also work with individuals who are questioning or exploring their beliefs, those who may have stepped away from religion, or people who outwardly appear religious but no longer practice internally. No matter where someone is on their journey, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can bring their whole self to therapy. My goal is to honor each person’s values and worldview with respect while supporting them in uncovering their truth, navigating challenges, and finding a sense of peace, authenticity, and self-understanding in their own journey.
