💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 🥇 Empowering 🙏 SpiritualWhy Esther Brodt, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
My fascination with the inner workings of the mind and the dynamic interplay between individuals has been a lifelong passion. Even in my early years, I sensed energies that eluded typical observation and verbalization. Pursuing psychology during my undergraduate studies was a natural choice, driven by an innate curiosity about human behavior.
As I delved into various career possibilities, the profound calling to collaborate with individuals on a sacred journey toward unlocking their best inner selves became undeniable. This realization led me to enroll in a social work graduate program and pursue the path of becoming a therapist. I recognized the inherent value in guiding others to discover their deepest potential and cultivate fulfilling lives and satisfying relationships.
My commitment to being there for people, helping them feel seen and known, became the cornerstone of my professional aspirations. I entered this field with the unwavering belief that through genuine connection and guidance, individuals can uncover the layers of their being, leading to a life of fulfillment and meaningful relationships.
Esther Brodt, LCSW's approach
In my therapeutic practice, I function as both a holding space and a guide, aiming to assist clients in navigating their intricate inner worlds. At the core of my approach lies the firm belief that every individual harbors a boundless, pure source within themselves—a reservoir of deep compassion, wisdom, and the innate ability to heal. My guiding principle is to facilitate access to this limitless potential, fostering a journey toward a life marked by fulfillment, ease, and contentment in relationships with oneself and others.
My commitment to excellence is reflected in extensive post-graduate training, particularly in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, and Complex Trauma, employing a diverse array of therapeutic modalities. Notably, my immersion in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) through training by the IFS Institute (Level 2, ongoing) has been transformative. Experiencing firsthand the efficacy of this model, I recognized its unparalleled integration with the wealth of training and experience amassed over the years.
IFS has become the primary treatment model in my practice, complemented by a somatic focus and an attachment lens. This holistic approach ensures a comprehensive exploration of clients' inner landscapes, addressing both emotional and physiological dimensions. Additionally, I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills when indicated, enhancing the versatility of the therapeutic process to meet the unique needs of each individual. Through this integrative approach, I aim to provide a tailored and effective therapeutic experience that promotes healing and growth.
